Re: [JAWS-Users] using Jaws with blackboard system
I have a friend who is a VP at Blackboard I will see if I can help. Can you give me some details? I.e. school , Class, ... Thanks, Jon -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of jason smith Sent: Thursday, August 30, 2007 3:35 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] using Jaws with blackboard system Hi list, especially those uni students on the list. I have been having a lot of problems accessing my uni website for my Psychology studies. The uni has began using a thing called "blackboard learning system". it uses some Java and so obviously gives Jaws problems. Have any of the students on list been able to master this system. I am able(with a lot of use of the Jaws cursor), able to get into things I need to, but it is very time consuming. Have spoken to the I.T guys at the uni. They help as much as they can, but they even say it is a problem even for students in general, not just with Jaws. Any tips will be helpful. thanks Jason P.S I have XP home and Jaws 8 and I.E 6. Re: [JAWS-Users] using Jaws with blackboard system
The original questioner was looking for *tips with JAWS*, and then commented on a local consensus that it wasn't just a problem for JAWS users. So, give JAWS tips with Blackboard learning system, if you can, this being a jaws-users list. I can't, not having used it ever. - Original Message - From: "Tim" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Friday, August 31, 2007 9:13 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] using Jaws with blackboard system Its not me with the problems in class. Re: [JAWS-Users] using Jaws with blackboard system
I'm trying to remember who did a blackboard tutorial or who was trained to teach it. I think his name was Norm, and he was with the group that does accessibility stuff with college students. He teaches online courses, and I took one, but for the life of me cannot remember the web site! I'd recognize it if I heard it. Don't think that is the problem. Re: [JAWS-Users] using Jaws with blackboard system
Hi Jason, The college I am going to did use the Black Board system and I have about a years worth of experience with it. So, I will be glad to share what ever I can. My college eventually switched to Angel Net Work. Which things are you having trouble with in the black board? God bless, Mark God loves you! Re: [JAWS-Users] using Jaws with blackboard system
Jason and all, I have an opinion on this. If the university in question knows darn well that Blackboard is difficult for all students, not just VI students, then why are they using it in the first place? Couldn't they just use Moodle or some other VLE instead? At least with Moodle JAWS can access it no problem as there's no Java, as far as I can tell anyway. Sorry for the ranting, but there goes my two pence worth anyway, smiles. - Original Message - From: "jason smith" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Thursday, August 30, 2007 8:35 AM Subject: [JAWS-Users] using Jaws with blackboard system > Hi list, especially those uni students on the list.
