From: Samuel GAY <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: 21/02/2008 09:07 Hi Joe, Juniper and Cisco use the same MD5 secret on condition that you use Cisco enable secret. In this way you can copy and paste the MD5 hash from a Juniper to Cisco router. That is why on Juniper router we can have a password with less of 7 characters. Well by definition MD5 can't be converted back to anything meaningful However, JNPR does have two-way encryption, which I know has been cracked (most likely by many parties separately, as it's rather impossible to make secure two-way encryption. Their purpose is to stop more or less shoulder surfing), but I don't know if it's in public circulation. -- ++ytti ___ juniper-nsp mailing list juniper-nsp@puck.nether.net https://puck.nether.net/mailman/listinfo/juniper-nsp
