Re: [j-nsp] Junos 15.1 and DPC

Oh, thanks, didn't know that!

I think for us it's safe to downgrade to 14.2 then, as the single
reason to have 15.1 is version consistency between our routers.

Keep in mind that 14.2 is the last supported software version for
RE-S-1300 (TSB16556). Looks like newer versions require more RAM than
this RE can hold :(
After about a half-year uptime one of our routers with RE-S-1300 and
15.1F5-S1 got into a problem with memory overconsumption:

20:40:05 rpd[3118]: RPD_KRT_Q_RETRIES: Route Update: Cannot allocate memory
20:40:08 kernel: rt_pfe_veto: Memory over consumed. Op 1 err 12, rtsm_id 5:-1,
msg type 2
20:40:13 kernel: rt_pfe_veto: Memory over consumed. Op 1 err 12, rtsm_id 5:-1,
msg type 2

under these conditions ssh/telnet access stopped working, some routes
were not installed into FIB and so on...

PS: back to subject: can confirm that we got no problems (yet?)
running 15.1F5-S1/15.1F7 on DPC.

Hi,

we run 15.1R4-S8 on MX-480 with RE-S-1300 and a few DPCE 4x 10GE R and
DPCE 20x 1GE + 2x 10GE R for a while, no problem. We use it as pure
internet border router with bunch of peers and upstreams.
