Just to keep in mind, EVPN on the QFX5100 will be using VXLAN underneath, not
MPLS

My perfect setup would be: L3 to the rack switch with BGP and MPLS on
top. Then over that implement your standard MPLS services for L2.

EVPN should come to the QFX5100 at some point. So maybe check with your SE
about a time frame and maybe beta builds.

I was unable to find such a device. It seems that if you want to do L2
services you need to lock yourself into QFabric or VCF. Vendor lock-in
is something I want to avoid if possible. It's really annoying that
they use the same technics under the hood in their fabrics but you
can't do it without the fabric.

Any thoughts?

High end EX (EX9200) support MPLS and VPLS. Be warning that the VPLS
code is far from perfect (the France-IX have some many issues due to
VPLS for example).

For cheaper I end with EX4550 that have correct MPLS/BGP support, and
L2Circuit only.
