[kmail2] [Bug 413798] New: Folder List displays truncated

2019-11-04 Thread Andy Goss
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=413798

Bug ID: 413798
   Summary: Folder List displays truncated
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.10.3
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: folders
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: aeg...@internode.on.net
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 123709
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=123709&action=edit
Folder list at startup.

SUMMARY

openSUSE 15.1. On startup, the folder list entries are truncated, see
attachment. The columns have to be adjusted to make the folder names and number
of unread emails visible.
The version supplied with 15.0 displayed the folder list with unread emails
shown in another colour, without truncation. The current "favourites" pane
still does this.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

openSUSE 15.1

Linux/KDE Plasma:
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.12.8
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.55.0
Qt Version: 5.9.7

[kmail2] [Bug 400770] Erratic Kmail filtering (startup problem?)

I have a similar problem with filters.

Some filters are not applied on incoming emails. Those that are applied are the
ones that redirect emails from their initial inbox (I have several email
addresses) to the local inbox or to other folders, based on the To, From, and
Subject fields. Other filters are not applied, even though the first group are
set to not stop checking if met.

Filters cannot be run manually on a folder unless the Settings > Configure
Filters utility is opened, and one filter, it doesn't matter which, is
selected, and OK pressed. Then filters can be run manually on a folder, and any
subsequent incoming emails during the session will be fully filtered.

The problem does not occur on every startup, just most of them. On rare
occasions no filters are applied.

In addition, the initial download on startup does not always happen

I confirm this, it applies at least to PDF files, plus .doc and .odt files
created by Libre Office.

In addition, on Wednesday I received a .doc attachment that Libre Office opened
with a filename of "untitled 1". And it still does today (as do .doc/.odt
attachments to older emails), when attachments sent today open as
"messageviewer_<*>"

As far back as I can go PDF files want to save as "messageviewer_<*>".

[kmail2] [Bug 317072] kmail not checking mail on startup

2013-03-23 Thread Andy Goss
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=317072

For me, there is a difference between Kmail being restarted within a session,
and starting in a new session. If restarting within a session, mail is checked
immediately. If starting in a new session, it is not.
Maybe this will help point to the problem.

This would be a great help when migrating email from a previous install. I have
hundreds of saved emails, and it takes ages to mark them all as read.

Actually that worked fine on restarting Kmail, but I don't think it made any
difference on boot this morning. I use a Wallet password, the fact that when I
restarted only Kmail, Wallet had already been accessed, and when I rebooted it
had not, may have a bearing on the matter.

KMail
Version 4.8.5
Using KDE Development Platform 4.8.5 (4.8.5)
Netrunner

Same problem, "check mail on startup" in retrieval options under Configure
Accounts is checked, but mail is not checked on startup. This has been going on
for some time now, can't say how long.

The solution for me seems to be that ALL accounts must be set to "check mail on
startup". I have another account that was not set to check on startup, setting
it allows check on startup.

[Bug 304155] Crash upon empty folder deletion

kmail (4.8.5) on KDE Platform 4.8.5 (4.8.5) using Qt 4.8.1

- What I was doing when the application crashed:

Having moved sub-folders to another folder, causing a couple of crashes, I
deleted the empty parent folder and Kmail crashed. Although this bug has been
marked as a duplicate of another, my crash looks like this bug, not much like
the "main" bug.

Having moved from Kubuntu Dapper to Debian Etch, on the same machine, "VIA

applied the fix, Option "XaaNoOffscreenPixmaps" under the Section "Device" in
