Re: [LegacyUG] Media Centre problem

2018-03-11 Thread Cathy Pinner

Hi Teresa,

The setting I was particularly referring to at Options - Customise 8.9 was
If there is no Individual picture show any other picture associated ...

Does this person have Events shared from someone else?
I think you'll find it's a picture attached to that shared event.
I just tested this but the Event is there in the drop down list with
asterisk so I'm not positive. * Census (Shared)

Have you done File - File Maintenance - Check/Repair? It may be sorted
by that re-indexing of the database.

Thanks, but ...
(Sorry: I meant Media Gallery below, not Centre)
I've got an individual on the screen that has an image displayed in
Family View. In the Media Gallery no media is shown at all, even
selecting 'All Media', and none of the events have an asterisk.
At 8.9 I have Show the Picture on each main person on the Family and
Pedigree Views selected, and under that 'All Preferred'.

What is your setting at Options - Customise 8.9? The images may not be
attached to the Individual direct but to one of their events.
Check the Media Gallery for the person rather than the Picture Centre
and from the drop down list that shows "individual" when you open it,
move up to "all" or look down the list for items with asterisks.
They're the ones with media attached.

Having an issue with Media Centre.

An individual has an image attached - and it is visible in Family
View. But it is not visible in the Media Centre (which is where I
added it some weeks ago).

If I add another image in the Media Centre, (1) the existing image
is removed from Family View, and replaced with the new one and (2)
there are still no images when I return to the Media Centre.

This affects some , but not all, individuals in the file. Neither
the Media Relinker nor File Check/Repair find any issues. All
media is in the default Legacy media location.

Any ideas what might be wrong?

Thanks
Teresa

Re: [LegacyUG] Linked events pointing to wrong people - ALL PLEASE NOTE

2018-03-11 Thread Chris Swann

Thanks for the reply Brian,

Ticket submitted and just for completeness the bug appears on four of
the "vital" records, Birth, Christening, Death and Burial

Now I see the problem and it is a bug you should report to
supp...@legacyfamilytree.com so they can enter it into the problem
reporting system. Use the Submit Support ticket on the Legacy Home Tab.

Here is what I suggest you use as the steps to reproduce this.

1. Share a baptism/christening for someone
2. Attach a picture to the shared baptism event.
3. Go to one of the people with which you shared the event
4. Open their event list
5. Select the baptism/christening shared in step 1
6. click on the picture icon for that event.

BUG: The media gallery will open for an unrelated person.

Hi Brian,

Its on the Individual information-Events/Facts section where icons
appear on the right hand side to show shared/sources/media/problems.

Clicking the media icon here is where the error occurs. If I have a
Census shared event, the picture icon returns the correct image but as
noted previously if I click on a Christening shared event the screen
opens with a completely unrelated person's name showing in the title
area on the top right hand side and no associated image(s).

If I check who the event is shared with (being a Christening it is the
parents) then this confirms the correct names and roles but, if I go to
the father and click on the picture icon then the person returned is
wrong.

Hope this explains things a bit better ?

We need more information on where you are when you click the picture
Icon? Is it on someone's individual information screen, on the
family view, in the event edit window for the shared event and if so
are you editing the main person or one of those with whom the event
is shared?

Hi,

Just noticed that a lot of my linked events, when the picture icon
is pressed, point to completely the wrong person. Census shared
events, which link to the media gallery seem unaffected.

Not sure when this might have started as I am pretty sure things
worked OK when I initially added the shared link.

Have tried deleting the share, repairing and adding back the shares
but doesn't help.

Any thoughts anyone ?

Thanks in advance,

Chris Swann

No, that's not the problem -- all the same file. And it's happened a dozen
or so times.
