[LegacyUG] Direct line
I hate to ask this question because I know the answer is in the help file but I am not sure what search time to use to find my anwer. Please bear with me. My cousin would like to start helping on our shared line of research. What is the easiest way for me to share our common line with her. I thought about tagging our common line with a 1 and then mass deleting the non marked names. Is there a more simple option, an preferably can someone tell me what term to search for. Re: [LegacyUG] Simple text file
THANK YOU all for your ideas. I am going to go back through and see what I was doing wrong with the directions Brian gave me because those are the directions I found in the help files. I was getting a list but I couldn't cut and past from it. It did have the data I wanted. However, with Steve's suggested help I have solved my dilemma.I now have the file I wanted. Thank you all again. Re: [LegacyUG] Simple text file
I think I found the problem. I found a place where I can remove the shaded lines in the options. Re: [LegacyUG] Simple text file
I made the file, I thought it was the way I wanted it but seems I am still getting the shadowed lines with every other line. Can't cut and paste as I wanted. It creates a .csv file and when I attempt to view I can't view it as a csv file, but it does allow me to preview it on the screen or print it. The preview I get will not allow me to cut and paste. I am probably doing something stupid again. Maybe I should just slap my forehead now. Any thoughts on what I might be missing? Thank you. I will give that a try. My 8k are not all mine. Some are people I have helped. That's why I want to do this so I can get them separated and get on with my own lines. I can't imagine having over 100,000. Kudo's to you and thank you again for the idea. [LegacyUG] Simple text file
I hope I have the right email address. If I don't please forgive me and someone can set me straight. I'm sure there will be offers to do that. I have never ask a question first, only replied. I have tried to figure out how to make a text list of names. I have 8 thousand plus. I don't wish to have to type all of them into a list. I have accomplished making a list but every other line is grayed/shadowed. That does not allow me to cut and paste the names to an xcel file. Any thoughts?
