Re: Cygwin install of 2.6?

2005-07-12 Thread Trent J

I tried the same with Cygwin ..got the same error message... tried copying the file and adding the extra .pfa but this time the same error occured with
error: can't find file: /usr/share/lilypond/2.6.0/fonts/type1//PFAPFAemmentaler-26.pfa.pfa.pfa - keeps on adding an extra .pfa for some strange reason.

I'm just asking, because with cygwin I used to build the release, it works.
I'll try to find what's missing.

Sorry, this is no more a lilypond question, but perhaps you can help:

My cygwin installation does not work anymore. I tried to reinstall,
but bash does not find any command. There is no home directory.

Help please!

In normal setup.exe

You may need to manually install thefontconfig, freetype2 and pango
packages (all of them via setup.exe)

Bert

Do you have fontconfig installed?

Where do I find it?

Re: Cygwin install of 2.6?

2005-07-11 Thread Rob Vlasaty
Paul, you asked how I was invoking lilypond.
In the Cygwin window, I navigate to the folder where my files are stored then I type in:
lilypond    test.ly
Doing this always worked fine in version 2.4, but 2.6 can't find the file.  Using Georg's method of typing in the whole path found the file.  In my case it was:
lilypond /home/Rob/2.6.0/test.ly
but I also got the error about 'PFAPFAemmentaler-26.pfa.pfa' is not found.

My other response did not address your first question. Others will
probably pick this up faster and better since I have not run Lily under
cygwin but how are you invoking lilyPond?

Specifying the whole path solved this problem:

$ lilypond -V /cygdrive/z/temp/2.6/test/test.ly GNU LilyPond 2.6.0

But then 'PFAPFAemmentaler-26.pfa.pfa' is not found (the file
'PFAemmentaler-26.pfa' exists)???

I just hit that one. It is known. That same python bug is also in the

Re: Cygwin install of 2.6?

2005-07-10 Thread Bertalan Fodor
I'll go away for some days, but you could try the current package, that
would help me to test before uploading to cygwin.

Use as mirror the following address (type this address into the mirror
field in setup.exe, press Add).

http://web.interware.hu/fodber/lilypond

You will need the packages:
bash coreutils crypt cygwin findutils ghostscript glib2-runtime
libfontconfig1 freetype2 guile libiconv2 libintl2 libintl3 pango python

I think you can use two mirrors in the same time, that way these
dependencies will be automatically installed.

I would greatly appreciate if you reported your success.

However, if there are problems I won't be able to help in the next three
days.

Cygwin install of 2.6?

2005-07-10 Thread Art Hixson
I originally installed Lilypond 2.4 under Cygwin. Having Cygwin is
handy for its support of Bash, TeX, etc.
I'd like to upgrade to Lilypond 2.6 but the Cygwin installer doesn't
appear to have been updated. Will that be coming up?
