MD: MUSIC AND PC GURU'S

2000-06-05 Thread Antonio Banderas

I have been reading these posts in this digest daily with out fail. I can
tell there are some of you who are involved in music professionally. This
question is for you and anyone who may have this particular knowledge. I
have been learning to play the guitar for some time now. I have been
converting all my classical and pop cd's to md. I want to go further. I want
to take a track and remove the vocals and or lead guitar and or the base
guitar and or the rhythm guitar leaving only the drums. Then copying the
final product to my md for easy transport to friends garage to play along
with our favorites tunes. Of course all this with without paying for studio
time at a professional recording studio. Is there software I can buy that
will allow me to do that?

RE: MD: Bad Ebay seller alert: BECKHAMDEE

2000-06-05 Thread Antonio Banderas

In regards to this dishonest seller, this is just not fair. I too am an ebay
user for some time. I know of many who prey on the needs and wants of
others. Something must be done. It takes a moment to register as an Ebay
user and a second to leave this creep a bad review to warn others of his
dishonesty. Let's all leave him like 100.

Re: MD: Compression on Sharp-831

2000-06-05 Thread Antonio Banderas

Luke I have limited experience with Sony md's. I heard one in a store
playing some R&B. But I have an 831 and my coworker have a 722 and we both
love sharp's quality. I listen to Classical, Rock, Pop, alternative, and a
little rap and the highs and bass and overall quality of the sound is near
cd quality. I find it depends on the recording itself. If you download mp3's
from the internet (like Napster.com) there is degradation in sound quality.

MD: Digital recording problems

2000-05-27 Thread Antonio Banderas

I am having problems with the recording level on my sharp 831. I have had no
problems since I purchased it. But when I record from my optical out on my
sound card or hi-fi stereo the volume is noticeably lower. You have to pump
up the volume to 30 to really hear it well.

MD: none

2000-05-15 Thread Antonio Banderas

Hey guys and gals. I just purchased a sharp 831. It's small and the sound is
good (as good as the MP3's I download anyway). When I record from my stereo
in digital I the record volume is pretty darn good, however I just invested
in a digital I/O card that complements my Creative Sound Blaster Live card
but when I record from my pc using my "new" i/o card WITH the record level
up to MAX the volume of the recording is still very low. What could possible
cause this since the volume coming out of my sound card through the speaker
jacks is so great? Any ideas?

2nd how do I convert wav files to mp3's?

Thanks a lot
GG

Cheers form NYC :)

MD: which is the best new portable?

2000-05-09 Thread Antonio Banderas

Hey Billy
Minidisco is a pretty good company. I just got my Sharp 831 and it plays
Better than all the negative reviews I've read. There are some negatives but
like all
Things there anr pros and cons. I saw the R90 in a store and it is tiny. If
portability
is your concern then Sony is the way to go. But the sharp is a good buy.
