Re: MD: MZR90 Batt Life

2000-04-08 Thread Ivica Petrovic

it's the same as with the mobile phones, is there anyone who believes in
300+ hours standby in it? maybe if you're not touching it at all. In that
case, specs for MZR 55 are honest, you should take out of it at least 4
hours playback and about 3 hours of recording. Those numbers for the other
models are a little bit overblown, and I suppose it's not the Sony's
specialty?

I know this is being lazy and probably inaccurate...

The specs you see from the manufacturers are made under the condition that
they test for 4 hours only during each 24 hour period. Maybe 4 hours'
sitting still wouldn't be that inconvenient. Put the disc on all-repeat.

Just add up the time you use it before you recharge it. It will still
give a good ballpark figure. using it in spurts of walking will give
the batterys time to regenerate a little between uses, but the walking
may make the head shift off track and heve to be repositioned. Though
you won't hear any difference, it will increase battery drain when it
repositions the head.

When the battery doesn't play the md any more on your way to/from work,
mark the time and insert a spare battery for the resto f the walk home.

(Just a suggestion, you don't HAVE to do it at all.)

My next projected free 12 hours will be in May 2020. How about you ?

Didn't think of this, but you still need to keep checking if it's run out
yet.

This is the way to do it, but still not high on my list of fun things to do,
and conflicts with my normal usage, which is to listen while I'm walking
to/from work.

Or listen to it while you are doing the test. when the music stops,
restart it Or you could put it on continious play if it has
that feature...Or you could put a disk in and replace it when
you got a chance if the unit shuts down after each disc, then add up
the times on each disc you played.

That corresponds with my impression. It would be a major pain to actually
measure it, you'd have to set an alarm to restart playing every time the
disc finished.
