My 04E500 wheel had a small ding on the inner flange and a crack. I looked into some repair companies and they wanted over $100 to fix it. And these wheels are like $30 at the knacker if you can find one. I checked my local welding shop and they wouldn’t touch it because they had been sued before about a wheel. I asked my welding instructor if he could fix it and he said sure. He cut out into the crack, welded it up, and ground it clean and it looked like new. There are shops that claim they can straigten a bent alloy wheel. I would believe that the average tire shop would not have the equipment to be able to do it. Wheel straightening services will do aluminum. Most of them charge three digits and up from what I understand. I bought a 16" W210 wheel on eBay for something like $60 when I found out one of the wheels on my just purchased (ten years ago) wagon was cracked. Hey guys, I’m in need of a rim (standard factory) for a 2004 E320. It’s my niece’s car, and the tire shop won’t put a new tire on the old one. Somehow, sometime (not likely by her) the inner flange got bent on that rim, and being alloy they cannot be straightened. We haven’t been able to find one locally, drew a total blank at all the wrecking yards. If you have one for sale, or know where I can get one, we’d really appreciate it! Thanks!
