Re: [MBZ] 300TE Demise / Manuals / Mat
Those paper manuals are awfully hard to come by these days. The price is not unreasonable... hope somebody jumps on it. (I've already got a set, so I'm out of the running, lol.) Side note - if there was ever an M119 manual printed, I need one! I've never seen one and don't know if they exist :-) +dm > -- > Date: Tue, 08 Nov 2005 15:41:03 -0700 > From: Jon Kanas <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: [MBZ] 300TE Demise / Manuals / Mat > > Good Day fellow listers, > > The demise of my 1988 300TE at the hands of a 16yr old wielding a SUV > with neither skill nor finesse is now final. [MBZ] 300TE Demise / Manuals / Mat
Good Day fellow listers, The demise of my 1988 300TE at the hands of a 16yr old wielding a SUV with neither skill nor finesse is now final. After a certain amount of haggling, I have reached what I believe is an appropriate settlement from the offender's insurance company for the Mercedes. It had been a wonderful automobile, surviving 18yrs, three owners and 204,800 miles. Although a machine, it's much like losing an old friend. I have, at least temporarily, left the fold of Mercedes ownership. I was unable to locate an appropriate Mercedes replacement, came away dissatisfied with sample driving experiences in comparable Volvo and Audi, and have (gasp!) purchased another Subaru Outback XT. Several contributors to this decision were the extraordinary performance of Kim's Outback XT in a major rear-end collision two weeks earlier, driving quality and feel comparable to the 300TE, and reliability / quality concerns with newer Mercedes offerings. I do intend to remain a member of this list community, as I enjoy the depth and breadth of the knowledge and postings, regardless of my currently Mercedes-less household. To my fellow listers, I offer my thanks for your help and advise over the past 7 years. I also offer, first to the listmembers, the paper manual set I have accumulated during my ownership of the 300TE for $150.00 (plus shipping) to the first individual to express interest. Shipping weight is approximately 20lbs from zipcode 80501. All manuals are in excellent, unstained condition. Please advise me directly ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) if you are interested. Mercedes Factory manuals for 124 series: Electrical Troubleshooting Manual Service Manual - Engine 103 Service Manual - Automatic Climate Control, Model 124 Service Manual - Chassis and Body, Volume 1 Service Manual - Chassis and Body, Volume 2 Maintenance Manual - Model Year 1981 - 1993 Non-Factory manuals Mercedes Benz E-Class Owner's Bible; 1986-1995 (Stu Ritter's bible) Haynes Mercedes-Benz 124 Series Service Manual (British) I also have the Mercedes cargo mat for the 124 Series wagons, in near-new condition. I'd like to get $75 for the mat, or make me an offer I cannot refuse. In the past year I've bought a pair of Subaru wagons, and finished the body work on the 1937 Money Pit in the garage, so every little bit helps. -- Best Regards, Jon B Kanas Longmont, Colorado; Cultural Center of the Universe Home: 303-678-0658 Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Website: http://www.qadas.com/~kanas AOL Instant Messenger ID: KanasColo Jesus saves, Allah preserves, and Cthulhu thinks you'd make a nice sandwich.
