Opentransit's traffic (AS5511) with AT&T also dropped drastically.
Traceroutes to major web sites die within the AT&T network.

I am seeing this as well. One of my upstreams (AT&T Canada- 15290) has
connections with AT&T US (7018) in Chicago and Vancouver.  Chicago seems to
have disappeared for me and all traffic bound via that path is going via
Vancouver now.

RE: UUNET instability?

UUNET confirmed that they had a network-wide outage (ISIS related) around
that time which caused some bgp sessions to reset. The issue seems to be
resolved at this time. They are still isolating the problem.
