Maybe one disc, but if you clue a set of 5 together, they're a bit stronger.
Just drop em on a clay stud launcher and yell "Pull".
I think that's not only more fun, but also a bit more challenging then have 'm at a

There is also kdirstat, which is not 3D but does let you delete

If we extrapolate your original premise, then by your own logic your
preference for a railgun means you are "outgunned" by the gun owners in
the "certain physical characteristics" category.

Login as root.
Once done, su to your user account:

su aron (it won't ask for a password)

Once done, type:

passwd

Enter a new password (or the old one) twice

Exit from su, exit from the root login, login as yourself.

Solution:
urpme cups-drivers printer-utils

Anyone got any experience with this model ?
Does work well ?

Interesting !
one report in that review said,

really annoying since I am running a website behind the router, and this

Also,

What pray is SNMP support ?
and is that important?
I also note that DHCP can be turned off, if that should ever be
important, cannot think when that would be,but maybe there are times

Far easier to change it. See "man passwd"

On second thoughts, that is far too obscure. (Who writes those manual

Type

Derek,

That is way cool!. Apparently (too bad) it only allows you to
'visualize' your file system, you can't actually do any operations on
the file(s)/system though.

Yes. Not a problem. These days switches are getting so clever you don't
even need a cross-over cable.

[newbie] Disk Space Left?

Thank you,

Re: [newbie] Modem needed for UK Broadband

2004-09-04 Thread John Richard Smith
Much has been written on this thread about,
Speedtouch 330 USB DSL modem
Netgear DM602 router/modem
but a preliminary search on some uk suppliers this afternoon suggests
the Netgear DM602 router/modem is no longer available here in the uk.

The model most often suggested is the,
NETGEAR DG834 ADSL Firewall £52.17 £61.30 inc VAT
Product Information
Four products in one, DG834 multitalented firewall router combines an
ADSL modem, router, four-port 10/100 LAN switch, and SPI True Firewall
to deliver broadband access that's continuously available for sharing
with all your networked devices. Simple to use, it plugs directly into
your ADSL line for instant connectivity to network resources and the
Internet, and an integrated switch lets you directly connect up to four
computers or any combination of four computers, access points or
printers. Setup couldn't be easier with NETGEAR's unique Smart Wizard
install assistant helps to guide you each step of the way. The Smart
Wizard also automatically detects and makes the optimal connection to
your ISP while the True Firewall protects your network with
business-class security against intruders, including logs and alerts of
break-in attempts. VPN pass-through makes it safe to connect to your
business network from home or office. The unit's contemporary, sleek
design suits your home or office, and it's wall mountable to save
valuable desk space. It is upgradeable with new enhancements via the
Internet.

Anyone got any experience with this model ?
Does work well ?
Of course this equipement isn't only a router/modem but also a 4 port
10/100 LAN switch. I could just about cope with a 4port put this leaves
me with no room for expansion.

I already have a DES1008D 8 port D-link . Is it then possible to just
cross link the two to provide additional ports ?

Or should I look around for an alternative model possibly the same but
with an 8port switch.
John

I've been thinking that a good way to do that is to run an

I forgot to deal with this in my last reply. For your board,
SYS is your chipset, SBr can be taken as your case temp. 26C is
79F, and that should be close to, but a touch higher than your
ambient room temperature. Which it appears to be so.

South bridge is part of the Mboard's chipset. EG, VIA KT600,
nForce2, SiS M741, etc. As to function, start here
http://computer.howstuffworks.com/motherboard.htm
and keep lookin ;) Basically the chipset (north&south) bridge, is
just that... a bridge between the CPU and other parts of the
system.

That's fine, but if you're temps are in the normal range,
which yours are for an Athlon, you really only need to monitor
them while under heavy to extreme load. EG, using mprime's
torture test
'./mprime -m, choose 17' http://www.mersenne.org/freesoft.htm

in one console, start another and run 'sensors' frequently
to monitor temps. At least till they stabilize at an upper
limit. This is a very good stress test and is a first step if
hardware problems are suspected, eg, system lock ups, freezes,
random reboots, failed compiles (at different points), etc.

FWIW, I use an alias to display CPU, SBr, and HDD temps
alias sc='sensors | grep Temp: && /usr/sbin/hddtemp /dev/hd[ab]'
 tom $ sc
CPU Temp:+46°C (low = +35°C, high = +55°C) sensor =
thermistor
M/B Temp:+40°C (low = +20°C, high = +45°C) sensor =
thermistor
/dev/hda: Maxtor 6Y080L0: 62°C
/dev/hdb: MAXTOR 6L040J2: 38°C

The .100 in the version number suggests to me that you are using
thacs.rpm. Is this true? If so then you may have to consider updating
all of kde from thacs site or uninstalling that rpm and issuing:

In this case these are the rpms as listed in an announcement from
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ( MDKSA-2004:086 - Updated kdelibs
and kdebase packages fix multiple vulnerabilities). The "100mdk.i586.rpm"
part indicates these rpms are for 10.0. The 9.2 rpm are labeled
"...92mdk.i586.rpm"
John (nz)

Thank you for putting me right on that. It was updating those very
packages that got me in strife in the first place AND they came from
thacs.rpms. Good to see thac is not at fault 'cause I like his site and
prefer to use it. I have since also learnt that when updating or even
installing kde one must do so from a text console with all WMs closed.
NB. Do not use kppp or any other kde app whilst installing/upgrading kde.
