[newbie] Cannot Execute binary file
When I try to execute .tar.gz and .tgz files from the terminal window, I get a message that says cannot execute binary file. I've tried ./filename and sh filename with no success. Can someone help me out with this one? Oh yea... I almost forgot. chmod 755 filename was also tried, but I still cannot execute anything from the terminal window. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Re: [newbie] Installation of .bin files
I get a permission denied error when I follow the instructions below. I'm logged in as root if that helps. [newbie] Installation of .bin files
I'm new to Linux and I've figured out how to install software using kpackage and gzip, but I can't figure out how to install software that comes in the form of a .bin file. Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.
