Re: [newbie] Linux connecting to a ms sql server
The reply to is gone. I will have to check the build tomorrow. How can I check, just try to connect to the sql server or can I check something in the phpinfo(). It all depends whether MDK built PHP with freetds. If it was, when you should be able to access SQL Server directly from PHP like any other database. If not, then you will have to compile PHP yourself. Check http://www.freetds.org/ for more information. BTW, you have set reply-to in your mailer which screws up replies to the list. Re: [newbie] Mandrake 10 and Dell Inspiron 8500
It's a laptop, and I don't have another drive. I will have to look around at work and try to find one that fits. David T Battler wrote: Jeb Barger wrote: I have been trying to installing MDK10 on my inspiron 8500. Things go fine except when it asks for the second cd. It will tell me that it is not found, once I put it in of course. I thought it was just a bad cd, so I burnt another one same problem. I have also tried different distro's they all have problems when I asked to switch cd's. I have also tried burning the cd's using a different burner. Any ideas? The only distro I have had luck with was a Fedora boot DVD (didn't need to switch disks and it worked). Jeb Want to buy your Pack or Services from MandrakeSoft? I changed CD ROM Drives, and had no problems after that with some discs being accepted, and others not. If the drive hardware is defective, in some cases, it will do just what you described. I don't know why; I just had this happen to me. Have you thought about trying a different CD Drive in your computer? - David Want to buy your Pack or Services from MandrakeSoft? [newbie] Mandrake 10 Mount Problem
I have a problem that I'm not sure how to fix. I messed up when I created the mount disk size. ie, \var\www\html is only 6gigs and \home is 20gigs This is now causing a problem because I am running out of space on the web side. How can I resize \var\www\html or how do I move it? I changed my httpd.conf to show the web directory in \home\web and I tried creating a symbolic link html to \home\web. Neither of these ideas worked. Any suggestions? Jeb Want to buy your Pack or Services from MandrakeSoft? Go to http://www.mandrakestore.com Join the Club : http://www.mandrakeclub.com
