[newbie] Smart Cat/Power Cat

2000-03-26 Thread Paul Eppley

Here's one I can't find in the archive:

Can anyone tell me how to make work the scroll things along the edges of the
touchpad on a Cirque Smart Cat or Power Cat? I've tried adding
"ZAxisMapping 4 5" and changing to Intelimouse in XF86Config and running
imwheel -k.

Re: [newbie] Seeing Windows Partition Contents

2000-02-27 Thread Paul Eppley

The problem was that they weren't in the fstab file. Thanks. I think I'm
going to post somewhere about my problems setting up Linux. Most of them
had to do with the configuration programs (even running after the install
from within Linux) were not properly setting up the configuration files.

Re: [[newbie] DNS problems]

2000-02-27 Thread Paul Eppley

Thanks. Once again I found a solution on the archive of this list soon
after I sent the message. However, I have a question about your answer.
What does the "search " line do? I only put the other two lines
in. Does it have to do with the fact that in Windows my DNS entries are set
to "server assigned"? Can Linux be set to do the same?

Nevermind. I found the answer (2 solutions, actually) by checking the
archive!

[newbie] Seeing Windows Partition Contents

2000-02-26 Thread Paul Eppley

I set my mount points for my Windows partitions, and they do appear in my
directory list, but none of the contents (files or sub-directories) appear.
Please help.

[newbie] DNS problems

2000-02-26 Thread Paul Eppley

I have my dial-up connection working, but I can't get anywhere in
Netscape--it keeps saying 'server not found'. I do have the appropriate DNS
entries in kppp. What else must be set?

[newbie] Mouse Update

2000-02-23 Thread Paul Eppley

I figured out how to use DrakX in text mode, but my mouse still doesn't work
at all in Linux.

[newbie] No Mouse in DrakX

2000-02-22 Thread Paul Eppley

My mouse is not functioning during installation with DrakX. It would seem
that some of the functions are inaccessible due to this, unless I'm missing
some way to do it through the keyboard. For example, I can't select
"Mountpoint" to set the mountpoint for my DOS partition.
