[newbie] mandrake 7.2
Hi all, Now I dont know about you but I have had nothing but problems with 7.2 and alot of you have as well judging by the posts. So I uninstalled the sucker and reinstalled 7.1 and I am so much happier. I mean dont get me wrong here 7.2 has alot of neato things but nothing works. So what good is that ? So anyways I think Im going to stick with 7.1 as IT WORKS ! Thank you, Chronos. [newbie] sound issue
When I ran the command chmod a+rw /dev/midi it says no such file or directory. So where is the midi player sound files ? Also where is the soundcore files ? Again- How do you enable audio devices ? What command ? How do you enable synth devices ? What command ? How do you enable midi devices ? What command ? How do you enable mixers devices ? What command ? I am trying to get the stupid sound card to work. What permissions ? Again snd config does not work. Drak config does not work. Moving the card to another slot does not work. Hi all, Okay moving the sound card to a different slot does not help. Running drake config does not help. Running sndconfig does not help. How do you enable the audio devices ? How do you enable the synth devices ? How do you enable the midi devices ? How do you enable the mixers devices ? How do you reassign irq ports ? Also getting card config - none. Under multimedia audio controller getting interupt 09 conflict. Also the command /dev/sndstat says permission denied when logged in as root. Should I ask the "expert" group ? As no one has any answers to this stupid problem. Why is sound the arch enemy of linux ? Thank you, Chronos.
