you will need to specify io as hex i..e 0x210 bascule On Tuesday 27 Nov 2001 6:45 pm, you wrote: > I have tried both the autoprobe option and manually entering the IRQ and IO > settings. I've used that card before. You have to do those things, BUT, you need to go to the INTEL WEBSITE (sorry, haven't got the url) and download their "utilities" for the chipset that you have on your card. It's a DOS program, so you'll need to use a dos bootfloppy (if you don't already own one, several are available for free--do a google search for bootdisk.com). Anyway, boot to dos and use the dos program to set your card -- once you've set (and know) the card's address and IRQ you'll be able to configure your mandrake installation to use it. hth eryl Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"; name="message.footer" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit Content-Description: Want to buy your Pack or Services from MandrakeSoft? [newbie] Configuring a LAN card
I'm setting up an old PC with Mandrake 8.1. It has an Intel Etherexpress Pro 10+ ISA card. I've tried to configure the card using the Control Center, but when I try to load the driver, it fails. When I try using ifconfig at a root console, I get "no such device" and the like. I've checked the card with DOS test utilities and it seems to be fine. The IRQ is set at 10 and the I/O address is 210. What could I try next? Thanks, -Paul Schwebel __ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
