That did it -- thanks for your help. My problem was that I hadn't seen the

Yes, that's the one. I used the "other=/dev/hda10". Like this:

The error was "no root partition found". Yes.
I think I know what is going on now. What does your Suse /etc/lilo.conf
look like? If you boot into Suse, and run "lilo -v", does it run without
errors? I think your error may have been because the Suse version of
lilo was not passing the root partition information, or was passing the
wrong information.

Let me guess - the second copy of lilo is the one that complained,

No, the one that complained is Mdk's lilo. That's why then I googled and found
the way to 'load' Suse's lilo from Mdk by mounting the partition in Mdk.

What did the lilo entry look like when it complained? The setup you are
using now does not use Suse's lilo at all. It just adds an entry in
Mandrake's copy of lilo to load the Suse kernel and inital RAM disk.

When you pick this option, it will transfere control over to the new
version of lilo.

I tried it first, but lilo complained about 'no root partition found'
Let me guess - the second copy of lilo is the one that complained,
right? If so, check your /etc/lilo.conf in Suse, and make sure it is
correct. Make sure you run lilo in Suse after you make any changes in
that copy of the config file. The thing you have to remember here is
that you will be using two separate lilo installs to boot Suse. The
version from Mandrake handles booting Mandrake, and Windows. To boot
Suse, it will hand control over to the Suse lilo install, and it will
handle booting Suse.

As far as the Mandrake version of lilo knows, it could be booting any OS
when it uses the "other=/dev/hda10" entry.

The way you have it set up, if you update the kernel in Suse, you then
have to boot Mandrake, update /etc/lilo.conf, and run lilo before you
can boot the new kernel in Suse. Also, if you want to have more then one
kernel in Suse, you will have to add the entries in the Mandrake copy of
lilo.conf, and run lilo from Mandrake. Also, if you wipe out the boot
partition in Mandrake, you will not be able to boot Suse from the hard
drive.

Ah interesting, no wonder when I update my Suse kernel with Yast Online
Update, it gave me lots of error when rebooting about can't
find /lib/modules..

Many thanks Mikkel :) I hope Mdk10.2 will be much better than Suse92.
Yes, that is why. I am surprised it even boots. If the old version of
the kernel and initial RAM disk were removed as part of the upgrade,
then the only reason it still boots is that the space they use on the
disk has not been overwritten by new data.

The thing you have to understand about lilo is that it is really two
separate parts. The part you run from Linux understands the file system,
and configures things for the part that actually boots the system. The
part that boots the system does not understand the file system. All it
know is where the information it wants is located on the disk. You gave
it this information when you ran lilo in Linux. But if you make changes,
you have to run lilo again, to update this information.

With the normal setup, this is not a problem. The package managers in
both Suse and Mandrake take care of running lilo for you when you update
the kernel. But, because you are using the Mandrake copy of lilo to boot
Suse, Yast updates the wrong version of lilo. Mandrake does not take
care of it, because it has no idea that you updated the kernel in Suse.
So you have to do it manually.

I would spend the time getting the version of lilo on /dev/hda10
working, and using the "other=/dev/hda10" option to boot Suse. Or I
would consider changing Mandrake to use Grub instead of Lilo. Grub does
understand file systems, so it would handle the kernel changing in Suse
better. You would still have to make sure and update the grub config
files when you change kernels, but at least if would warn you when you
break things.

Now, if you want a real challenge, install one of the other boot manages
on the MBR, change Mandrake lilo so it installs to your root partition
instead of the MBR, and let the boot manager give you a menu for
Mandrake, Suse, or Windows. There are several options for free boot
managers on freshmeat, or you could go with something like System Commander.

I have now got Mambo installed in /var/www/ and Xampp in /opt/. I am not
sure if Mambo is working however xampp is and in a terminal window starting
xampp brings up this

Starting XAMPP for Linux 1.4.11...
XAMPP: XAMPP-Apache is already running.
XAMPP: XAMPP-MySQL is already running.
XAMPP: XAMPP-ProFTPD is already running.
XAMPP for Linux started.

I am told that I now need to create a database in MySQL for Mambo and run an
install script[?]

The instructions give '$ mysqladmin -u db_user -p create Mambo', db_user has
to be changed to a suitable name for the system. This come up 'no such
msql command'

I have tried changing to /var/www but still get the same thing.

Any thoughts please. Thanks.

2005-02-13 Thread Lovell Mcilwain
Can anyone tell me the "successful" way install mandrake on a macintosh?
I can't do this to save my life and I can't tell what my problem is.
It seems my issue is with the install display which I don't have the
first clue how to fix. Even if I do the install via text-installer,
when I go to boot up my display is still all messed up.

Can anyone tell me a good way to fix this if there is such a way?
I am trying to install this on a bronze G3 Laptop. I have had the same
issue installing on my blue and white desktop as well.

Sure, just look into the /tools directory in the CD. There's a tool to make a
boot floppy for network install.
Setup the source in the remote pc using ftp or httpd, boot the pc you want to
install, enter the ip number and the path of the installation cd on the
remote pc... and done!

The usual method for restoring a bootloader is to boot from CD1, and when the
install/upgrade screen comes up hit Esc, then type 'rescue'. From there you
can use a menu entry to restore it. I presume the same method would work for
you.

[newbie] Installing a bootloader after the fact

2005-01-27 Thread Trey Sizemore
I installed Mandrake 10.1 via ftp on a second drive configured as a
slave. It would be accessed in a multiboot environment using a boot
manager like GAG. So I didn't install a boot loader thinking that GAG
would handle this.

But when GAG identifies the Mandrake / partition on this drive and I
attempt to boot from it, I get an error stating: "Boot sector not found
or invalid."

So my question is, without reinstalling, can I go back and install a
boot loader on the / partition of the Mandrake install on the second
disk?

Thanks.

Re: [newbie] Installing only the kernel.

2005-01-24 Thread Glenn

Mike;
If you'd follow up on the information you got in your "What Is URPMI?"
thread, you'd be able to "urpmi kernel" and have a selection of kernels to
install (which would install next to whatever kernel you're currently
running.) Everything from kernels optimized for memory above 1 gig, 4 gig,
or 64 gig, or optimized for multimedia or motherboards with multiple
processors.

The easiest way to do all of this is to install some urpmi sources (in other
words, mirrors from which to download these kernels) using the easyurpmi site
(http://easyurpmi.zarb.org/ , then follow directions). Then open up the
Mandrake Control Center, click on Software Management, then Install. After
you get a listing of the packages available in the left window, search for
"kernel" by typing it into the box, then selecting "search". Voila, you've
got a list of the various pre-compiled kernels available. If you see one you
like, put a check in the box next to it, and select "install". The software
takes it from there.

I think you originally asked about patching the kernel. Sorry, I can't help
you there. If you're wanting to compile from scratch, you'll need to google
for instructions. That's beyond this list, and is not necessarily for the
faint of heart.

Cheers;

Glenn

   From,

I am not sure what you mean by "only the kernel". What you can download
from www.kernel.org is the source code for the kernel. You then have to
configure it for your system, compile it, and install it. It is not like
installing the compiled kernel from a Mandrake RPM.

The advantage is that you can fine-tune the kernel for your hardware.
The disadvantage is that you don't get any of the patches that Mandrake
applies to the kernel source. It is also a bit more work, takes more
time, and a bit more knowlege. If you feal you want to try this, then
the first step would be to track down and read the HOW-TO on compiling
your own kernel. (Hint - you should find a link to the HOW-TO on the
www.kernel.org web site.)

We've all got to start somewhere. I don't do "programming" either. I'm a truck
driver :) I've been on Mandrake 10 about a year or so now...

You'll get there, but it just takes a bit of time to learn and be patient. I
managed it much easier because I run a Linux and a Windows machine side by
side and I find that the Linux machine can manage a lot more a lot easier so
I am glad I have changed, but at the same time there are things on Windows
which I cannot do without and have not yet got the ported software working.

Give it time :)

Be very careful upgrading from 9.X to 10.x. There is some hardware that 9.X
will configure and 10.X will into spasms with, in particular IBM Thinkpads.

Also consider that for some hardware notably IBM Thinkpads you can install the
DVD version and apparently the CD version. The apparent comes from the fact
that the CD/DVD reader used in Thinkpads only reads 99.9% of any given
Mandrake CD correct which is enough most times for Mandrake to install and
run but NOT run correct. An issue that is guaranteed to drive you nuts trying
to figure out what is wrong.

The issue with trying to install 10.X DVD in Thinkpads is that there is
apparently some screwup in driver selection so an error message appears
saying place 'Auxiliary Driver Floppie' in floppy drive. These 'Auxiliary
Drivers' are located on the DVD and must be coppied to a NEW floppie which
will accept 1.72 MB of data by the dd comand. If you attempt to use old
floppies which would not accept 1.72 MB of data the drivers will NOT work.
The assumption here is that you have a floppy and a DVD drive and a DVD
drive. If you do NOT have BOTH then use some other method for installation.

Frank

It's bluetooth, the short range wireless thingy that talks to mobile
phones, (and other stuff, but mainly phones.) If you don't use it you
can very safely ignore the message.

The pin helper is the program that asks for a six(?) digit number when
pairing with a device. kbluepin will just ask for the number with a
nice window.

1. that's not a basic question. As of 9.2, bluetooth was bleeding edge
technology in Linux. (It may be more mainstream in 10.1)

1a. We really don't care how basic a question is. This is the Newbie
list - many questions here are basic. We're happy to help.

2. You don't need to know anything about programming to use Linux, any
more than Windows.

2a. What knowledge you need, you'll pick up over the next few weeks
without noticing. The average time between someone appearing on this
list as a total newbie, and answering a question themselves is about a
month.

3. You need to know _less_ about computers to use Linux safely and
securely than you need to use Windows safely and securely.

3a. No viruses, little or no spyware, software designed to be secure
from the ground up and fantastic support.

Hi Bill,
I can share my experience oh this. I installed my mdk10.1 over 9.2
retaining /home . Everything went smoothly. When I run kmail, it instantly
recognized the old mail directory. It asked me whether I want to use it and
convert all the emails (yes, it changed the directory from /home/Mail
to /home/.Mail CMIIW). I said yes.. and voila, I have all the setting from
previous kmail.

I don't know how that works, Ed, but it could be relevant. The kde lists are

I expect that they thought there was a good reason, but it's not altogether

On the kde-pim mailing list it was noted that the developers do not like the
change that was made by Mandrake, because it makes it non-standard, so yes,
Mandrake must have made the decision.

That sounds weird that they do, but not implausible since there should be no
problem to go in and change it for rpm's, however if you compile it yourself
then you shouldn't experience this at all.

[newbie] installing new versions - keeping settings etc

2004-12-27 Thread Bill Winegarden
Hi,
Merry Christmas or happy holidays to all on the list.
A quick question that arose from my last installation. I would like to know
the best way to save emails, desktop settings etc. when installing new
versions.
When I installed 10.1 Official I tried to copy my Mail directory and
my .kde>share>apps>kmail directories thinking that they would restore all my
emails.
When I copied them over to /mnt/win_d (fat32 partition) there were some errors
about some files not copied.
There were no essential emails so I proceeded with the installation.
My kmail directory structure was saved but the actual emails were not.

What is the the recommended method of retaining emails? Also, is it advisable
to retain desktop settings considering that KDE (my choice) is constantly
being upgraded to new versioins?

Thanks,
Bill W.

Install in "expert" mode, and that will give you more options, including partitioning, and bootloader installation.

Hi all- I'm having trouble installing Mandrake 10.0 on my machine I just
built. I have Windows XP on primary master (160G), and I want to put Mdk on
pri. slave (80G). I've used these install disks on my old machine (with XP
on the master also) and had no prob.  When I boot from CD, I choose
"install or upgrade", then I get a black screen with "Mandrake 10.0, etc"
at the top and "Alt-F1, Alt-F3, Alt-F4" choices at the bottom (which don't
respond when keyed). It never loads into memory or goes anywhere. Any help?
Has my install disk failed?  (Step-by-step would be appreciated.)

Thanks, Cam

[newbie] installing kernel from rpm fails

2004-11-30 Thread Brenda O'Hagan
my apologies is this is a repeat - i'm getting connection refused from

I need some help - today I was installing a new (older) kernel - it all
looked good until it failed at the end with these messages:

lilo failed: Fatal: open /dev/sda: No such device or address
error: %post(kernel-2.6.3.19mdk-1-1mdk) scriptlet failed, exit status 1

bootsplash is installed (and working)
I don't understand why lilo's looking @ /dev/sda because that's my usb SD card

I'm trying to install an older kernel than my current one (2.6.8.1-12mdk)

I did mine by hand the hard way - which I like even better than the
Kaffe version of JavaVM that comes bundled with 10.0 OE

I created a dir in /usr/src for the jre binary I got from Sun; then
edited the /etc/profiles.d/jre shell scripts to point to the new dir;
then put my plugins in their proper places
(/usr/lib/mozilla-1.6/plugins, /usr/local/firefox/plugins and so on) as
well as renamed the necessary softlinks in /usr/bin to point to the
proper binaries...works like a charm - but a bit of work...

Vegard; Go to this site,
http://java.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=9719
download and install the rpm version of Java, then follow the steps at
this page

http://java.com/en/download/help/linux_install.jsp#install-pkg
exactly, paying attention to the version number of Java that you have
downloaded.

When it comes to making symbolic links for your browsers, you can follow
the java instructions or open Konqueror and browse to the Java folder
where the plugins are located, drag and 'link here' the plugin into your
browser's plugin folder. If you have multiple browsers that you like to
use, drag and link a copy of the plugin to each of the respective
browser's plugin folder and again 'link here'.

I haven't finished installing it myself, so I can't vouch for it, but try
Blackdown Java: http://blackdown.org/

This is a Linux port of Sun's Java tools (community source, not open source,
unfortunately; there doesn't seem to be an open source Java that has moved
beyond version 1.1). They currently have 1.4.2, and working on 1.5. I saw
mention of a Mozilla plugin, but again, I haven't tried it yet. HTH

is there anybody out there who made java vm work?

[newbie] Installing 10.1 from HD- questions

2004-11-11 Thread Fred Fraley
I'm downloading the DVD-ISO and am going to copy its contents into an
empty partition. I plan to add a line to the boot loader pointing to
that partition.

1. I have two paths to vmlinuz in the isolinux directory, alt0 or
alt1. Does anyone know which I should point to, or how to determine
the correct one?

2. When I tried to do this using a floppy with a grub image, I kept
getting an error showing file not found. It was also showing
Filesystem type ext2fs partition type 0x83. But I have, according to
MCC, Journalised filesystem ext3 (0x483). Do I need to reformat in
ext2fs for the installation, or should the install kernel support the
ext3 partition?

Couple of reasons behind all this -- CD burner not working in linux,
and I have maybe just enough room on the old MS partition (burner
works under their windowing OS) for 1 CD-ROM ISO at a time. Not
worth fixing CD burner if the new install will do it for me, and
certainly not worth rebooting six times and twiddling my thumbs while
the CD burns.

Thanks,
Fred

Now if I could just remember why I made a 14 gig root partition last
time. 121 megs used. H.

It's been awhile since i used Kmail, but i think you can program the
whichever key you want to be list reply. I thin i had it set up so
that the "normal" reply to key was actually the reply to list key.
If there wasn't a list, it would default to the sender.

List resend

You guys with gmail addresses are a pain in the neck ;-). I know you cannot
change the reply-to setting, so I only blame you for using the system, not
setting it up properly. This is the third time in the last twenty-four hours
I have had to resend a reesponse to the list that I found in my sent after
not seeing it show up on the list. In every case, the poster was sending
from a gmail address.

You can either download the entire distribution tree from an ftp mirror and
install from hard disk, or you can install directly from the dist tree, which
will only download the packages you are installing.

To do that, there is a floppy image that will boot and start the installation
process and you just point the installer to the location that contains the
distribution tree. There are seperate floppy images for each kind of
install you might want to do, hard disk, network, cd-rom (for machines that
cannot boot from cd). There is also a small boot.iso which combines all of
the features of the various floppy images. Just burn it and boot from it for
any kind of install.

The aboslute easiest way is to use the iso's. They are not
available for download yet, but you can get them (4 CDs) here :
http://linuxcentral.com/catalog/?prod_code=L000-296&id=C1CQEBKnWD3C
6

But, here is what I did :

1. As root, edit the file "/etc/mandrakelinux-release" and change
Community to Official. Save it.

2. Download kernel-2.6.8.1-12mdk form a mirror .I used :
ftp://ftp.proxad.net/pub/Distributions_Linux/Mandrakelinux/official
/10.1/i586/media/main/

3. Install it alongside your old one. Re-boot into the new one.

4. As root : "urpmi.removemedia -a"

5. Go here : http://easyurpmi.zarb.org/

6. Define your sources for 10.1 Official, and proceed as
 instructed.

7. As root : "urpmi.update -a && urpmi --auto-select".

8. As root : "rpm --rebuilddb && update-menus -a -n && udpdatedb"

That's all. When comparing my new rpms to the ones on the mirrors,
it seems that I run 10.1. Official.

I actually don't know if step 8 is required, but it won't harm.

Don't bother trying to compile mplayer. It is way easier to install a
precompiled binary.

Go here http://easyurpmi.zarb.org/

Follow the instructions to add on line sources for 'plf', 'contrib' and
'updates' (if you do not already have an update source.
Make sure you pick sources for 9.1
Copy the commands it gives you into a root terminal.

(Tip : - Copy/paste in linux is highlight/click mouse wheel )

Then using your Mandrake Software install GUI install mplayer and mplayer-gui
All the other stuff will get installed automatically.

Ben,

Frequently, it is quite a pain to get SpeedTouch modem working fine
under Linux. (I was not successful with that.) So, the best thing to
do is to buy an ethernet modem, as the installation (under Linux) of
ethernet modems is trivial.

Hello,

I am a complete newbie to Linux, having finally made the plunge from a

I have downloaded the binary file from

happens now? Once I have installed these files. What do I do next?

Thanks for any support.

Right now I am working on gaim and the with that I needed to install
the following dependencies pretty much in this order since even those
depend on each other:
glib
pango
atk
gtk+

I got glib installed with your help "thanks".
I was able to install pang with no problems (so I think, I didn't get
any errors)
I was also able to install atk with no problems (so I think, I didn't
get any errors)

Now I try to configure gtk+ and I get the following error:
Configure: error: Library requirements (glib-2.0 >= 2.4.0 atk >=
1.0.1 pango >= 1.4.0) not met; consider adjusting the
PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment if your libraries are in a nonstandard
prefix so pkg-config can find them.

Any ideas ? Is this possibly cause I installed glib in /usr as the
prefix?

Check them with pkg-config :
$pkg-config --modversion glib-2.0 atk pango
It should display three version numbers in order of typing.

If any of these numbers is smaller that required by gtk+ then you'll
have to upgrade.

If any is missing (probably atk and pango if you have installed it in
/usr/local) you'll have to find it's .pc file and add it's path to
pkg_config_path variable in ~/.bash_profile. It'll probably look like
that (including our last changes to this variable) :
PKG_CONFIG_PATH=$PKG_CONFIG_PATH:/usr/lib/pkgconfig:/usr/local/lib/pkgconfig

Once again if you don't want to reboot the system do :
$export $PKG_CONFIG_PATH=$PKG_CONFIG_PATH:/usr/local/lib/pkgconfig
This will add new path without removing the previous one.

Also, a useful command is :
$pkg-config --list-all (you can use it with grep) :
$pkg-config --list-all |grep glib (for example).

Hint : when you'll be installing gtk+ use --prefix=/usr.

PKG_CONFIG_PATH=$PKG_CONFIG_PATH:/usr/lib/pkgconfig:/usr/local/lib/pkgconfig

[newbie] installing gtk+

2004-08-19 Thread lmcilwain
Hello all it looks to me like I may still be having a problem with
dependencies.

In the end my ultimate goal at this time is to install gaim and xmms on
my mdk 10.0 machine.

Configure: error: Library requirements (glib-2.0 >= 2.4.0 atk >=
1.0.1 pango >= 1.4.0) not met; consider adjusting the
PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment if your libraries are in a nonstandard
prefix so pkg-config can find them.

Any ideas ? Is this possibly cause I installed glib in /usr as the
prefix?

THanks

Lanman and Hoyt, thanks for the pointers, Linux is back. I went the
rescue root, which installed lilo. After booting up Linux, I tried
"grub-install /dev/hda", but it gave me some message like "unable to
detect BIOS drive for /dev/hda7". /dev/hda7 is where my 9.2 Linux is
installed. So I started up the GUI and did it through the Mandrake
control center. That reset my menu.lst to a default, but fortunately I
was smart enough to back up my real one. Any idea what the GUI is doing
differently from grub-install?

I installed the new XP64 beta on my eMachines AMD64 laptop. It
reclaimed the MBR from grub. How can I get the grub MBR back on without
doing a complete reinstall? Can I start up the install CD, drop to a

Guy; Boot from the install CD, press F1 when you see the option, and at
the command prompt, type "rescue". You'll see a new menu with an option
to restore Lilo. It'll take about 2 seconds. Exit the menu with the
reboot option and remove the CD from the drive. That should fix things
nicely.

Got my hands on the matrix screensaver.

I put KMatrix.desktop in

Control center does not pick it up until I create the
link in
/usr/share/applnk-mdk-simplified/.hidden/ScreenSavers

In works than, but later on (few days later the link
dissappears). All those links there get recreated.
By what process?

How do I make this permanant?

I keep having to recreate this link manually.

[newbie] Installing on Compaq Presario 900 laptop

2004-08-10 Thread Todd Slater
My compadre has a Compaq Presario 900 with DVD and WinDVD is all mucked
up--it keeps giving a "create overlay failed" error. I googled and tried
a bunch of things to fix it, to no avail. I could get DVD's to play
using PowerDVD, but it's just a trial and costs $50.

I suggested installing Mandrake for playing DVD's, but I'm having second
thoughts because my experience with Compaq several years ago was a
nightmare of non-standard, Compaq only crap.

After googling some more on the Presario 900 and linux, I see that it is
possible but might require some work. Most of those docs were for older
releases--RH8, MDK 8.2-9.0. I'm just wondering if it might be easier now
with a newer release, and if anybody here has gotten MDK running on one
of these "machines".

Java is probably not in your path so you'll have to give the full path
to its location; on my machine it's /usr/java/j2re1.4.2_01/bin/java. You
could probably set up a link in ~/bin or /usr/bin if you wanted.

[newbie] Installing a .jar file

2004-07-21 Thread Marco Verheul
Hi all,

I want to install a platform independent font viewer (Opcion). On their
website ( http://opcion.sourceforge.net/help.htm ) they say:

Execute Opcion Font Viewer
... For Linux users use the command "java -jar Opcion_v1.1.1.jar" in
console/terminal/shortcut.

When I fire that command in the command line, I get:

"bash: java: command not found"

I have Java installed and tested. It's there. Does anybody know how to
install/use these kind of applications?

Two ways; copy the updates from the CD to the hard drive and add the directory
as a local source, or add the CD as a source and just keep updating it. If
the updates file gets so large that it won't fit on a single disk that could
become a problem.

You won't be using "Mandrake Update" in either case. If you use the rpmdrake
graphical interface just keep it set to show "all files by update
availability." Any new versions will be listed there. It's even easier from a
terminal, urpmi -a -c -f && urpmi --auto-select

Good luck;

Agreed, in fact I believe I even suggested this a few posts back. Not to
continue the OT, but to further highlight the strength of Linux in general
and mandrake in particular, if you download the whole tree, one could also
make their own DVD iso with the MakeCD script found in the misc directory of
the dist tree.

What is hde? on my system it is the first sata disk. That would help in finding where
the error is from.

Tony.

Re: [newbie] Installing OS 10.0 Problem

Dmitri wrote:
I've run into the same problem continuously when trying to install 10.0.
Here's the situation:

Downloaded ISO img of mandrake 10.0 disk 1 and burnt to disk.
Restarted computer with cd in drive and it boots into the installer.
A few seconds into the install (right after it finishes detecting the USB
devices) when it tries to install/make a ramdisk, i get the following error:

Command error= 0x51
<4> end request: I/O error, dev hde, sector 1351356
Buffer I/O error on device hdc, logical block 337827
The numbers vary after "sector" and "logical block," but the error is
respectively identical every time. After a while, in the graphic interface,
an error box pops up stating that there may be a hardware problem or a bug in
linux.

I've tried downloading a new copy of the ISO img and tried that and the same
thing happened. Then i downloaded a copy of the ISO off of a different server
and it happened again; same place, same problem, same error. I've tried
burning the ISO in mandrake and windows. No matter what, i get that same
error and the install stops in the same place.

Dmitri

Try cleaning your CD-ROM drive. If that doesn't work, try burning the
CD at a slower speed. It sounds like the image you have downloaded is
ok, but the drive is having a hard time reading the CD you have burned.
