[newbie] K3B problems
I had a rough time getting K3B to work with Mandrake 10.1. My problem was solved when I dropped back to an earlier version of K3B. I'm burning CD's on a Phillips USB R/W now with no problems other than I haven't been able to get it to work with rewritable CD's. The version I am running is K3B 0.11.13 under Mandrake 10.1CE with the 2.4 kernal. This is in response to the thread about such problems Sorry about changing the thread name - I switched mail servers and resubscribed. -- Kenneth Rhodes 100% MicroSoft Free Want to buy your Pack or Services from MandrakeSoft? That may explain it, but I see you managed to get a different release installed. I'll still try the one linked from the k3b site and let the list know whether it works or not. It may require KDE 3.2 though, I haven't looked at the package yet. It's time to cook the old box anyway, I haven't mangled enough stuff lately. Hi Marc, I tried downloading the file on the official K3B site but it is an Italian only site and the links didn't work. I looked for the file on http://www.rpmseek.com and found out version 0.10.3 is a mandrake Cooker version - meaning it is not a stale relase. You might be experiencing some of the related issues. I am happy with version 0.10.1... Amichai. On Sunday 28 December 2003 18:52, Marc wrote: > I did use a mandrake specific RPM . Hey Again, Have you tried to download version 0.10.1? I am running k3b-0.10.1-db perfectly. I think I have downloaded it before the final release... I will try and upgrade to 0.10.3 ad let you know what I came up with. Amichai. On Sunday 28 December 2003 18:52, Marc wrote: > I did use a mandrake specific RPM . I did use a mandrake specific RPM . After removing K3b-0.10.3-3 the original RPM K3b-0.9-10mdk will not install due to a never ending string of dependency problems. This seems to be the first time the Mandrake software manager has let me down.
