Re: [newbie] KDE intrusion on Gnome
what I have done to turn off kde when in Gnome is to bring up the task manager and look for the process "kfm" and kill it with the kill signal of your choice. Yea, I hate when that happens. I think it happens when you run another application from your KDE application. For instance, when you click a link in Kmail, it'll start up a KDE browser, putting all the KDE icons on your desktop. So I just copy and paste in Netscape now. But yes, it's very annoying to logout to fix it. Anyway, just sharing some grief with you, I have no idea how to fix it either. > I use Gnome with sawmill as my preferred choice. Re: [newbie] KDE intrusion on Gnome
I'm not sure how to stop it, but I think I know what causes it. Some programs seem to he hard coded to use kfm(KMail uses it for links). When ever such a progam is run, AFAIK starting kfm pretty much starts KDE. Richard On Sun, 19 Mar 2000, you wrote: > All, > I use Gnome with sawmill as my preferred choice. [newbie] KDE intrusion on Gnome
All, I use Gnome with sawmill as my preferred choice. When I use some kde programs (kmail for example) my desktop gets filled with the kde icons. This happens some times and not others. Is there a way to stop this? Wayne *** *** Wayne Petherick Criminology Department Humanities and Social Sciences Bond University Gold Coast, Australia *** ***
