Perhaps if you downloaded a large file it has got stashed somewhere as a hidden file, this happens automatically with nt downloader until the download is complete when it unhides it automatically . Anyway if you use konq, go to view and in the dropdown list there is a tab for view hidden files, they all begin .something.
