He has been subscribed for a long time (i have an oldish copy of the
subscribe list). Probably just a dead account, though i don't know
why my direct email didn't get bounced.

I just removed him, but if it is still a good account, he has an
email from me and he can get in touch to correct it.

I only recently reset my newbie account to recieve mail (just too
busy for awhile), so that's when i looked into this, but even then,
it took me awhile to get to it.

Yeah, a long time ago, after i tried most of the emails listed in
the headers and got nowhere, Vincent hooked me up with Charles at
Mandrake (who i can't find anymore) who gave me sub/unsub ability
for issues like this.

But then i figured out why no one listens: those addresses get so
much spam. I had to just send them to trash. That's why i put the
section in the weekly newsletter saying to email me for issues.

I don't know who Andrew Cliffe is, nor have I ever heard of jigsawfinance.com,

As for the note from sympa, "For further assistance, please contact

Ok, i think i know what the offending address is. I sent a mail
directly, and didn't get a bounce, so i'll wait a little bit to see
if i get a response and unsub the address if i don't.

I also received a "bounced" message after my last posting to this list. On
closer inspection of the "received" headers, I realise the bounce did not
come from this list, but actually came from [EMAIL PROTECTED] -
My guess is this email address no longer exists and that this misconfigured
mailserver bounces messages to the wrong email address.

This happens to most of us from time to time - the failure notices
tend to arrive *after* the message is already on the list. If your
messages are getting to the list, there's nothing to worry about. If
your messages stop reaching the list, contact Eric

You're getting those because the mailserver handling mandrake's mailing
lists is not configured correctly. Those should be going to the
administrator for the mailserver, not to you.

Same here. It is also happening by sending mail to Cooker Mailing list
and probably to all mailing lists for Mandrake. Sometimes my e-mail
shows up a minute or so after I send it, sometimes it take even more
then 10 minutes to show up in a mailing list and sometimes it doesn't
even show up after a day. I guess something is wrong with Mandrake
mailing list server.

2000-06-19 Thread Fran Parker

I guess not :)

I think whatever it was they fixed it.
They got all their messages plus all the ones I sent
back to them...that I had already gotten directly, BTW
on the newbie and expert lists, other email addressed
to me AND some other mail that hadn't been address to
me but other people! I sent them back and told them
that I thought they should have them in case they needed
to get some of them to the original recipients.

I don't even know and were not sending to these lists.

This was very annoying...when you get WELL OVER
100 messages a day ...getting WELL OVER 200 didn't
set well with mewhen it was for no good reason.
