Aktion isn't good at decoding mpg. I only use it to read .mov files.
You should try the smpeg or mtv packages.

Hi Nickolay!

Aktion sucks for MPEG, try out MpegTV. It's on the fifth or sixth CD or
available at www.mpegtv.com. It has to be registered ($10) to play the
anims with sound, but it also has a command line version which offers sound,
but no gui.
Cheers!

[newbie] Why MPEGs are so slow??

2000-05-30 Thread Nickolay Belostotsky

Hello!

I tried to use aKtion to play my MPEG files, and the speed of playback is
~1fps. What is the reason of it?

System: PIII-500, ASUS V3800TVR nVidia based card, XFree 3.3.6

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
