Yesterday, I installed 8.1 on my PC. It is installed on the second hard
drive (/dev/hdb). When I installed it, I chose to use the EXT3 journaling
filesystem. I would like to use a boot floppy to boot into Linux. So,
during the installation, I created a bootdisk. However, now, when I try
to boot with it, it comes up with a "kernel panic" message and says I
should use the "init=" parameter.
I am getting the impression that it may have something to do with the
file system I have chosen. Does anyone know if that is the case? If so,
what can I do about it? Do I need to repartition everything as EXT2 in
order to use a boot floppy?
Thanks in advance,
Rick
