Just to add an even easier approach, Remo :

On your screenshot I see the option *Ansicht* (Wiew).
Click it and then *background* (hintergrund ?) and then draw the
ruler down a bit. Then you should be able to read the lines.

Just looks like a fuxored colour scheme to me. KDE is riddled with
stuff like that in my experience, which is why I don't use it ;-)

May I suggest you investigate the following:

http://www.xfce.org/

Todd Slater has some 9.1 RPMs that make it a cinch to install, and it
uses Gnome themes, which are much prettier and more consistent.

Remo, to me it's quite obvious that your text color is white.
Every other line is white too, so no wonder you can't see
anything. Try changing your text-color to red or blue or
something other than white. Or - alternatively - change your
KDE-theme.

I didn't realise you means white text on white background. You can,
of course, from Control Centre (not Mandrake Control Centre) play
around with text colour - it's under File Manager - but I don't know
if there's any colour that would work well with what is virtually
black and white backgrounds. Is this theme really worth fighting
for? Have you looked for another that you like to see if you still
have a problem?

Just an idea: can it be that you have set the font color to white, thus
producing white text on white background?

defenatly not. i downloaded

this is a theme, just try it.
If you don't like the colors you can change them. The colors are
changed when the theme is applied. There is nothing stopping you from
being able to change them after it has been applied.

View => Background Color...

No, I certainly won't, if it causes you trouble already. I'll stick to
the KDE defaults... ;-)
