KDE is riddled with stuff like that in my experience, which is why I don't use it ;-) May I suggest you investigate the following: http://www.xfce.org/ Todd Slater has some 9.1 RPMs that make it a cinch to install, and it uses Gnome themes, which are much prettier and more consistent. -- HaywireMac Air is water with holes in it. Every other line is white too, so no wonder you can't see anything. Try changing your text-color to red or blue or something other than white. Or - alternatively - change your KDE-theme. You can, of course, from Control Centre (not Mandrake Control Centre) play around with text colour - it's under File Manager - but I don't know if there's any colour that would work well with what is virtually black and white backgrounds.
