And please remind me of the order of things. ln -s /dev/ttySHSF0 /dev/ttS0. Does that look right, after deleting ttyS0? Right now ttyS0 is linked to tts/0. Why, I have no idea. If it were me, I'd try to delete /dev/ttyS0 if it's not being used and create the link from /ttySHSF0 to /dev/ttyS0 - still rather surprised that the fax proggies don't have a means to change the port they're using...but either which...that's what I'd try mate. stephen kuhn - owner == illawarra computer services a kuhn media australia company http://kma.0catch.com -- * This message was composed on a 100% Microsoft free computer * We expressly refuse to utilise Microsoft DRM encoded documents -- They drove back through the dawn, while the cassette player played J. Stephen, here's my linking question if you get a chance. Thanks bro' Stephen, back to my original question. My fax programs seem to want to use /dev/ttyS0. I am the lucky owner of Win/Linmodem. It's currently linked to /dev/modem,like this; /dev/modem -> ttySHSF0. Since all of my fax programs seem to want to use the ttyS0 port is it all right to link ttySHSF0 to ttys0 without getting everything screwed up? Or can I link /dev/modem to ttyS0 as well? What is the simplest way to mange this, if it's possible... -- Jonathan Dlouhy Wednesday, April 28, 2004 03:03 AM It's wonderful to be here in the great state of Chicago. --Vice President Dan Quayle Registered Linux user #264482 Powered by Mandrake 10.0 Want to buy your Pack or Services from MandrakeSoft? The only one I can think of is located in system -> monitoring -> kde system guard. [newbie] system monitor for KDE
Is therr a system monitor for KDE that is similar to the GNOME system monitor, or another app that will do the same thing so I can shut down processes I can't shut down any other way? The GNOME app won't load most of the time, otherwise it would be fine. Thanks, -- Jonathan Dlouhy Tuesday, April 27, 2004 06:03 PM HEADLINES!
