I'm running it on a 350MHz Pentium II, and it is reasonable... I don't believe the speed of the processor (within reason..., I wouldn't use a 486 ;o)) is as important as the amount of RAM. I think 128M would be the minimum to prevent noticeable slow down. 256M would obviously be MUCH better. RE: AW: [newbie] windows apps under linux
I have had good luck running Linux under VMWare on an NT box - haven't tried it the other way around... What VMWare does is to boot a "virtual machine" that runs whatever OS you load in it - it will switch between a windowed or full-screen session, and though it's a little slow, Linux seems to work quite well this way - I'm planning in the near future to load VMWare on a Linux system and try running NT or 95 in it - I'll post the results when I get a chance... so far as i am aware VMware runs both os's at once, and you have to switch between the two. if you are thinking about VMware, don't forget to have a look to the free opensource attempt: http://www.plex86.org/ plex86, former FreeMWare. > -Original Message- > From: Lane Lester [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: 03 April 2000 11:59 > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: AW: [newbie] windows apps under linux > > > Drazenko Djuricic said: > > go to VMware Inc. > > > > www.vmware.com > > I have had only limited success getting the programs I care > about to run in > WINE.
