You can find them on your install CD's Ingo -----Original Message----- From: Jones, Alan [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, December 03, 2001 12:54 PM To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: [newbie] Where is the kernel configuration? I am using Mandrake Linux 8.1 Standard edition on my PC. I have only been using Linux for about two weeks. I want to modify my kernal. According to my "Linux for Dummies" book, there is supposed to be a /usr/src/linux directory, but I don't see it. I appreciate help on this subject because I want to tweak the kernel for my system. What are the steps to modifying the kernel in Mandrake 8.1? --Alan [EMAIL PROTECTED]
