RE: Duplicate Name Found
We have this all the time in our 'environment'. Mostly shows up on the Citrix servers. The easiest fix is to go into the WINS database(s) and delete any reference to the offending system, reboot that system and usually 9/10 times away it goes without problem. On a rare occasion I have had to rename a server and then rename it back and everything is back to normal (whatever that may be in an NT3.51/4.0/2000/Win9x & Citrix/Sun/Linux environment). Aaron G. RE: Duplicate Name Found
Title: RE: Duplicate Name Found I have seen this issue come up if you have incorrect static mappings in WINS. If you have updated or added IP addresses to your server but have not updated the WINS server you can get a duplicate address warning. If you're not using WINS then downing the server and pinging the IP address as Jay suggested is a great way to see if you have a culprit out on the network with the same address. I also like his resolution too. I've seen this problem occasionally within WINS with dual-homed NT4 servers. Removing the WINS server entry from one of the NICs TCP/IP settings (rebooting) and physically removing the duplicate entry from the WINS server seemed to eliminate the problem.
