Another way to go at is to think... what does common sense dictate. I too stumbled around on the passwrd stuff for a time. The release notes is NOT a good place for that kind of info. Although I guess they are kind of obvious... didn't seem like it at the time though. ___ opensolaris-discuss mailing list opensolaris-discuss@opensolaris.org

Re: [osol-discuss] liveCD login and password
Thanks. But I would argue that you actually *DO* need it in "good" conditions. If you choose the console boot option rather than graphical, you need it. Also, if you choose the graphical option with the liveCD, you have no way of shutting down your system without the password. Shutdown from within gnome just logs you out (and then what are you supposed to do from there with no login/password). Having this on a buried errata page is bad. It should be printed on the CD case and clearly visible when you download the liveCD. But, my servers from Dell or NEC are not in *good* conditions. :) For example, Solaris 10u6 can run on Dell Poweredge T105 but OS2008.11 cannot, and, on NEC Express5800/110Gd, osol-0906-108-x86.iso does not boot.
