I would like to ask you all which is the best IDE to use when developing for Orion? Which is the most integrated with Orion (something like JRun Studio and JRun)? Or simply, how do you develop your own EJBs and Enterprise Applications? Thank you. Ervin

RE: Java IDE
I use Forte for Java from Sun. -Original Message-From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Ervin JakabSent: Saturday, December 02, 2000 5:20 PMTo: Orion-InterestSubject: Java IDE Hello, I am just learning about EJBs using Orion. Java IDE
Hello, I am just learning about EJBs using Orion. I would like to ask you all which is the best IDE to use when developing for Orion? Single Sign On
Does Orion do any sort of single sign-on for multiple applications deployed on the same application server? If so, how can one get this working?
Log Analysis
Anybody using standard tools to analyze logs? Anybody have the format string for apache's combined format set up? So it is a quick fix? David
Passing an object to an remote EJB method
Hi, I'm trying to execute a method in a remote EJB. This method receives an serializable object. But when I execute it, I get this error message in the console: System/communication error: Method invocation failed (Invalid return command: 6) Anyone already had this problem? -- []s Guilherme Ceschiatti http://listando.net [EMAIL PROTECTED]

For what it's worth, the bug is triggered from an application client. The bug also exists in Orion 1.4.0 and 1.2.9. The bug is *not* triggered if you never call close() on your InitialContexts, but I'm in the situation where my company's J2EE software component has to work with multiple application servers, so not calling close() is not an option. :-/ Thanks again. Here's hoping a fix shows up soon. :^) cheers, david -- David Sims [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sims Computing, Inc. www.simscomputing.com

I'm really, really surprised no one's ran into this before. Everyone must use a jndi.properties file to set up their InitialContexts, not the InitialContext constructor that takes a Properties object. Unfortunately, that scenario doesn't work for me. :-( So, what's the normal resolution process here? It looks like it's probably a very simple fix. Will the fix make it into Orion 1.3.9 and then will 1.3.9 become the new stable version of Orion? Just wondering what the process is here.
