This should be owned by qt6-qtdeclarative. I will have to fix that.

> Use SPDX identifiers, need:

Fixed.

> Documentation is under GFDL-1.3-no-invariants-only

Documentation is not built and shipped.

> Is it possible to add a license breakdown in the spec file?

Added.

Rpmlint still reports a wrong license for the Qt one, but it is listed in
Fedora docs.

Thank you for the review. I have updated the package:

Spec URL: https://cra.fedorapeople.org/ancient/ancient.spec
SRPM URL: https://cra.fedorapeople.org/ancient/ancient-2.0.0-2.fc37.src.rpm

(In reply to Benson Muite from comment #2)
> a) There is a test script, but upstream has not included any test data.
> Maybe this could be added to the repo?
> c) Is it possible to add a smoke test, for example
> ancient --help

I added a test that verifies ancient decompressing Source0's gzip compression.

> b) Assume none of the algorithms are under a patent?

I'm not a patent attorney, but I assume so--these are either ancient file
formats or formats that are already implemented in other parts of Fedora.
Nothing here is called out as explicitly prohibited on
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/packaging-guidelines/what-can-be-packaged/
or the linked documents therein. I'm not sure what else is expected of a
packager on this point, especially considering that doing a patent review could
actually increase legal exposure.

> d) devel package does not need a license file as it will be pulled in from
> libs package

Removed.

(In reply to Ben Beasley from comment #3)
> Please don’t glob over a shared directory; see
> https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/packaging-guidelines/#_explicit_lists.
>   %{_bindir}/ancient

Done.

> > a) There is a test script, but upstream has not included any test data.

>
> Considering that this tool is intended for files from the 1980’s-1990’s, I

Agreed. Hopefully the gzip test I implemented is sufficient.

[Bug 2173751] Review Request: mod_auth_cas - unretire package

2023-02-27 Thread bugzilla
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2173751

--- Comment #8 from Carl George 🤠  ---
Thanks for submitting this re-review. This is a fairly old spec file, so it
will need a bit of cleaning up to bring it up to modern Fedora packaging
standards. Don't get discouraged by the following wall of text, it's not a
criticism of you, just things we need to work on in the package.

The conditional %_httpd_* macro definitions at the start of the spec file are
no longer necessary and should be removed. They're defined by httpd-devel in
all current releases of RHEL and Fedora.

Since all current RHEL and Fedora release includes httpd 2.4, the sections of
the spec that reference httpd 2.2 should probably be removed.

Optional suggestion, consider refreshing the summary and description with
sections of the upstream README. The first sentence of the first section
(without the period) would work well as the summary, and the first sentence of
the introduction section would work well as the description.

There are a few deprectated tags and commands that should be removed.

-Group:  System Environment/Daemons

-BuildRoot:  %(mktemp -ud %{_tmppath}/%{name}-%{version}-%{release}-XX)

-rm -rf %{buildroot}

-%clean
-rm -rf %{buildroot}

https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/packaging-guidelines/#_tags_and_sections

The license field needs to use the new SPDX identifiers.

-License:APLv2
+License:Apache-2.0

https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/legal/license-field/#_basic_policy

Since this is a C program, you'll need to have a buildrequires for gcc.

+BuildRequires:  gcc

https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/packaging-guidelines/C_and_C++/#_buildrequires_and_requires

This has a buildrequires on a deprecated package, pcre-devel. File an issue
with upstream to see if they're interested in porting this program over to
pcre2, and leave a comment above the pcre-devel line with a link to that issue.
 Technically during reviews depending on deprecated packages isn't allowed, but
I think we can waive that since this is a re-review to unretire.

https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/packaging-guidelines/deprecating-packages/

I don't see this in the guidelines, but other httpd modules packaged in Fedora
tend to require httpd-mmn, not httpd directly. This will also allow users to
install a smaller footprint of httpd with the httpd-core package on Fedora and
RHEL9.

-Requires:   httpd
+Requires:   httpd-mmn = %{_httpd_mmn}

Instead of hardcoding the version in %prep it would be better to use the
version macro, so that way when a new version is released it only has to be
updated on one line. And since the default value for -n is %{name}-%{version},
we can just leave it off entirely.

-%setup -q -n %{name}-1.2
+%setup -q

Switch to the modern %make_build and %make_install macros.

-make %{?_smp_mflags}
+%make_build

-make install DESTDIR=%{buildroot} LIBEXECDIR=%{_httpd_moddir}
+%make_install

https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/packaging-guidelines/#_parallel_make
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/packaging-guidelines/#_why_the_makeinstall_macro_should_not_be_used

Instead of directly using the /var path, consider switching to
%{_localstatedir}.

-mkdir -p %{buildroot}/var/cache/httpd/%{name}
+mkdir -p %{buildroot}%{_localstatedir}/cache/httpd/%{name}

-%dir /var/cache/httpd/%{name}
+%dir %{_localstatedir}/cache/httpd/%{name}

Setting permissions to root:root is not necessary since that is the default.

-%defattr(-,root,root,-)

For the one directory that needs apache:apache permissions, consider doing it
in one line.

-%defattr(-,apache,apache,-)
-%dir %{_localstatedir}/cache/httpd/%{name}
+%dir %attr(-,apache,apache) %{_localstatedir}/cache/httpd/%{name}

https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/packaging-guidelines/#_file_permissions

It's best practice to minimize usage of globs in %files. In this case they are
matching one file each, s

Hello Michal,

yes let us finish this one.

> License:GPLv2+

Meanwhile, Fedora's system of noting the license has changed.
Now, SPDX identifiers must be used, so this need to be written as
GPL-2.0-or-later.

Reference: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/legal/license-field/

> Requires:   %{_bindir}/ruby

I asked you to switch to this form, but it turns out I was wrong.
In the context of Requires, this actually must be written as /usr/bin/ruby.
Sorry for the noise.

Reference:
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/packaging-guidelines/#_file_and_directory_dependencies,
last paragraph

Other than these two small things, this review is ready.
Please correct them and I will flag the review as complete.

Is there anything I can do to get this pushed through, or do we need to wait
for upstream? Just checking to see if there's anything I can do, thanks!

Description:
ParlayLib is a header only C++ library for developing efficient parallel
algorithms and software on shared-memory multicore machines. It provides
additional tools and primitives that go beyond what is available in the
C++ standard library, and simplifies the task of programming provably
efficient and scalable parallel algorithms. It consists of a sequence
data type (analogous to std::vector), many parallel routines and
algorithms, a work-stealing scheduler to support nested parallelism,
and a scalable memory allocator.

Issues from Fedora-review:
 Note: Directories without known owners: /usr/lib64/cmake/Qt6Qml,
 /usr/lib64/cmake/Qt6Qml/QmlPlugins

Use SPDX identifiers, need:
GPL-3.0-only WITH Qt-GPL-exception-1.0

Examples are under BSD-3-Clause
Some of the code can be under GPL-2.0-only
Documentation is under GFDL-1.3-no-invariants-only
Is it possible to add a license breakdown in the spec file?

Please don’t glob over a shared directory; see
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/packaging-guidelines/#_explicit_lists.

You can change

  %{_bindir}/*

to

  %{_bindir}/ancient

in the %files list.

> a) There is a test script, but upstream has not included any test data. Maybe

Considering that this tool is intended for files from the 1980’s-1990’s, I
strongly suspect that the test data is not included because it is all non-free.

[Bug 2173665] New: Review Request: python-papermill - Parametrize and run Jupyter and nteract Notebooks

2023-02-27 Thread bugzilla
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2173665

Bug ID: 2173665
   Summary: Review Request: python-papermill - Parametrize and run
Jupyter and nteract Notebooks
   Product: Fedora
   Version: rawhide
Status: NEW
 Component: Package Review
  Assignee: nob...@fedoraproject.org
  Reporter: sanjay.an...@gmail.com
QA Contact: extras...@fedoraproject.org
CC: package-review@lists.fedoraproject.org
  Target Milestone: ---
Classification: Fedora

Spec URL:
https://ankursinha.fedorapeople.org/python-papermill/python-papermill.spec
SRPM URL:
https://ankursinha.fedorapeople.org/python-papermill/python-papermill-2.4.0-2.fc39.src.rpm

Description:
papermill is a tool for parameterizing, executing, and analyzing Jupyter
Notebooks.

Papermill lets you:

- parameterize notebooks
- execute notebooks

This opens up new opportunities for how notebooks can be used. For example:

- Perhaps you have a financial report that you wish to run with different
  values on the first or last day of a month or at the beginning or end of the
  year, using parameters makes this task easier.
- Do you want to run a notebook and depending on its results, choose a
  particular notebook to run next? You can now programmatically execute a
  workflow without having to copy and paste from notebook to notebook manually.

Papermill takes an opinionated approach to notebook parameterization and
execution based on our experiences using notebooks at scale in data pipelines.

Thanks for the heads-up on this. I've opened a corresponding issue
(https://develop.openfoam.com/Development/openfoam/-/issues/2714) for more
follow ups.

Do you need a newer spec file? I see from the log that you are building v2006 -
the last release was v2212 (Dec 2022).
[Hard to believe that it's been that long already]

Hi Mark,

The build fails for rawhide related to a GCC change from the looks of it:

```
Should be an easy fix (but there may be more places where these tiny tweaks are
required):
https://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-13/porting_to.html
I'll do another round of review once it builds.
Cheers,
Ankur
Bug ID: 2173523
   Summary: Review Request: qt6-qtspeech - Speech component
   Product: Fedora
   Version: rawhide
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux
Status: NEW
 Component: Package Review
  Severity: medium
  Priority: medium
  Assignee: nob...@fedoraproject.org
  Reporter: jgrul...@redhat.com
QA Contact: extras...@fedoraproject.org
CC: package-review@lists.fedoraproject.org
  Target Milestone: ---
Classification: Fedora
Spec URL: https://jgrulich.fedorapeople.org/qt6-qtspeech/qt6-qtspeech.spec
SRPM URL:
https://jgrulich.fedorapeople.org/qt6-qtspeech/qt6-qtspeech-6.4.2-1.fc37.src.rpm
Description:
The module enables a Qt application to support accessibility features
such as text-to-speech, which is useful for end-users who are visually
challenged or cannot access the application for whatever reason. The
most common use case where text-to-speech comes in handy is when the
end-user is driving and cannot attend the incoming messages on the phone.
In such a scenario, the messaging application can read out the incoming
message. Qt Serial Port provides the basic functionality, which includes
configuring, I/O operations, getting and setting the control signals of
the RS-232 pinouts.
