Yes, you can select with "Mark in" and "Mark out" keys, the letters i and o on
the keyboard.

Re: GoldWave, recording results only in hiss

2012-10-09 Thread Tom Kaufman
This sounds like a similar thing that happened to me a while back when I
needed to re-install "Winamp" (I was getting a "hissing" sound if Winamp was
at low volume; if I wanted to move forward in the file, then I would get
this horrible sound that I could only stop by restarting my computer! I
can't remember who, but someone on here helped me solve the problem as
somehow Winamp had selected the wrong sound device! Once I set it to the
right device, problem was solved!

I discovered that upgrading to and installing the current version had
changed the settings in the device tab so that either the wrong speakers
or
the wrong recording device was specified. I had to make a few other
changes
in the process, but they all boil down to restoring the ones I'd
previously

set.

You reach the device settings tab with F11, then control-tab until it's
announced.

My system is XP Pro.

Yes, we are, but telling us this serves no purpose unless you say exactly

another question

2012-10-09 Thread Joe Bollard
hello friends, i wonder if someone on the list can help me, last week i put
a file on to a pen drive, it was a text file, however, having finished with
the file i endeavoured to delete it, but i keep getting the message, "cannot
delete file as cannot find the source file or disk" i have been through the
various options suggested to me to use to delete it, but it is still there
and i keep getting the same message, "cannot access the source file or disk"
when trying to open the actual file again i'm told there is no file, so
there is only the name of the file, hope i'm not confusing you, any help
will be much appreciated, regards from ireland, joe bollard.

is anyone out there using test allowed, and how satisfactory
do you
find it. also, are there any other text to speech
programmes. i can't
remember now, whether text allowed is a free programme. if
it is one
for sale, i have no objection to paying for it, if it will
do a
reasonable job in conversion text to speech. i would welcome
