Re: Anybody Tried Out The New Gold Wave Scripts Yet?
Afraid I can't suggest anything. The scripts seem to work almost perfectly now that I re-compiled them with Jaws 11. Perhaps some major changes to the scripting code were made with Jaws 13 which results in what appear to be errors. Seems sh*tty of Freedom Scientific to do something like that and I honestly don't know if that's the answer. - Original Message - From: "Humberto Rodriguez" To: "'PC Audio Discussion List'" Sent: Saturday, January 07, 2012 9:09 PM Subject: RE: Anybody Tried Out The New Gold Wave Scripts Yet? Hm, yes, it's very strange. They definitely were not working before I did this though. If you are using the jaws version with which the scripts were actually written, you may not have to recompile; that might explain why they work on some machines but not others right off the bat. - Original Message - From: "Christopher Wright" To: "PC Audio Discussion List" Sent: Saturday, January 07, 2012 6:12 PM Subject: Re: Anybody Tried Out The New Gold Wave Scripts Yet? Re: Anybody Tried Out The New Gold Wave Scripts Yet?
Here's the procedure I recommend, step by step. Assuming that you already downloaded the scripts, and that you're using Windows XP: 1. Go to the location where you saved the zipped archive containing the scripts. The file you're looking for is goldwave5.65jawsscripts1.61.zip. 2. If you're using the zip/unzip utility built into Windows, press enter on that file. 3. Select all the files and copy them to the clipboard. 4. Go to the start menu. 5. Go to programs. 6. Go to the submenu for the Jaws version you have installed. 7. Press enter on explore Jaws. 8. Press enter on explore my settings. 9.Paste the files into that folder. - Original Message - From: "JM Casey" To: "PC Audio Discussion List" Sent: Saturday, January 07, 2012 5:27 PM Subject: Re: Anybody Tried Out The New Gold Wave Scripts Yet? All right guys... So, obviously, the scripts V1.60 do not work with goldwave 5.65. I got rid of those files, downloaded the new 1.61 version, and at first my experience possibly mirrored Kim's; they were definitely not working. However, I forgot to resave/compile the scripts I think, and now that I have done that, they seem to be performing their proper functions. For some reason the programme wants to hang when I hit insert-h, but as of now that's the only problem I'm still having. So, Kim, if you want those scripts to work, load them in the script manager and recompile. - From: "Christopher Wright" To: "PC Audio Discussion List" Sent: Friday, January 06, 2012 7:03 PM Subject: Re: Anybody Tried Out The New Gold Wave Scripts Yet? Hey Christopher. I posted about this earlier. The reading functions still don't appear to work, and jaws still speaks as though the clipboard were empty/selections were not made. Jaws 11 over here...might have something to do with it, but I think it more likely to be connected with the new GW version. Didn't you say you weren't a jaws user, or am I getting you confused with someone else? lol One obvious improvement though is, as I said before, that now the filenames will speak. I am a Jaws user. I currently use Jaws 13. As for GoldWave settings, you don't need to change a thing. You should be able to select audio and copy it. So far, no problems over here. Is Jaws 11 the only version you have installed? - Original Message - From: "JM Casey" To: "PC Audio Discussion List" Sent: Friday, January 06, 2012 6:18 PM Subject: Re: Anybody Tried Out The New Gold Wave Scripts Yet? Re: Anybody Tried Out The New Gold Wave Scripts Yet?
We've already been over this. In particular, there are a series of commands accessed by pressing alt-shift-letter that read various bits of status information quickly and efficiently. I don't necessarily mind if jaws incorrectly reports that no selection has been made when the reverse is true, but it would be good to have those functions back. I also really appreciated that in the past you could move your markers around and jaws would speak their time location. Not sure what memory has to do with any of this... - Original Message - From: "Doc wright" To: "PC Audio Discussion List" Sent: Friday, January 06, 2012 6:23 AM Subject: Re: Anybody Tried Out The New Gold Wave Scripts Yet? after all this time using goldwave what are you not remembering that the scripts gave you that you can't do on your own? Re: Anybody Tried Out The New Gold Wave Scripts Yet?
after all this time using goldwave what are you not remembering that the scripts gave you that you can't do on your own? I'm using the latest goldWave with NVDA and when I press a key it doesn't speak now but I expect it to still work. the only one key command that doesn't seem to work for me is control i to insert silence. - Original Message - From: "kim kelly" To: "PC Audio Discussion List" Sent: Thursday, January 05, 2012 10:38 PM Subject: Re: Anybody Tried Out The New Gold Wave Scripts Yet? A brief initial test suggests that there is one improvement at least: the names of your current files are automatically read again. However, when I tried, the read keystrokes still didn't read, and jaws was still incorrectly reporting the status of the clipboard/selections. I'll take another stab later. - Original Message - From: "dennis" To: "PC Audio Discussion List" Sent: Wednesday, January 04, 2012 12:11 PM Subject: Re: Anybody Tried Out The New Gold Wave Scripts Yet? for me they work just like they always have. looks great. - Original Message - From: "Paul Hutson" To: "'PC Audio Discussion List'" Sent: Wednesday, January 04, 2012 10:47 AM Subject: Anybody Tried Out The New Gold Wave Scripts Yet?
