Hi Guys,

Is ACB radio off line right now? I try to get it and I get a message
that it is unable to launch it and to check my player choice.
Thanks for any info.

2009-08-20 Thread Steve Pattison
Hi James,

Before writing this message I started the ACB Radio Tuner and tested the
streams. All five streams played for me using Winamp without any
problems. Do you have the latest version of the ACB Radio Tuner? The
version I have is 6.9 and as far as I know it is the latest version.
The reason you sometimes hear content from the Cafe stream being
broadcast on the Interactive stream is because the Cafe stream is now
also played on the Interactive stream when there is no announcer
available to broadcast on ACB Radio Interactive. I hope this helps.

Regards Steve.

Hello List!

What has happened to ACB Radio? Lately, at least for three or four days
and maybe even longer, when I click on Main Stream or World Streams, I get
a "file cannot be found error from Real.com; when I click on Interactive,
I get the Cafe Stream; and only the Treasure Trob and Cafe work. Are they
doing some kind of maintenance or upgrade? If so, couldn't they have some
kind of message up there stating what they are doing? Or is the ACB Radio
Player gone bad? Just curious.

Hi Barry! I feel that all in all, I think that the folks at ACB Radio do a
great job. I think that while Jonathan was the director, he did an
excellent job while he was at the helm! But I do think that it takes all of
us to make ACB Radio what it is, and could be. Thanks, Barry, for pointing
that out. I'm rather fond of a show called Tuesday Topics that's on
ACBRadio. Anyway, that's my opinion. Off my soapbox!

RE: Acb Radio Main Menu Archives

2006-02-27 Thread Barry Campbell
Well the archives are not updated as frequently as one would like however
you can get each weeks main menu as a podcast which is simply an mp3 file of
the broadcast.

For those of you who sit there and complain about not getting something
right away have you thought of volenteering with ACB Radio to assist in the
process to ensure that the archives are kept up to date?

2006-02-27 Thread Jonathan Mosen
Hi all, I feel a bit of a conflict of interest coming on here, but I think
it would be fairer all around if we tried to focus on listening to and
creating audio on the PC, as opposed to getting into too much detail about
how a particular service is run. In the case of ACB Radio, they do run a
discussion list if you would like to offer them feedback. Thanks as always
for your consideration.

I agree that Mainmenu should be updated every week. If they kept up with
it, it wouldn't be such a great chore. Also, those who need the material,
need it "now", and not several months later. For that reason, I have all
but given up, too, but I keep an eye on it with some hope.

RE: ACB radio Main menu?

2005-07-27 Thread Mark Matthews
Hi Ibby,

Probably your best bet is to go to the Mainstream page at:
http://www.acbradio.org/pweb/index.php?module=pagemaster&PAGE_user_op=view_p
age&PAGE_id=8&MMN_position=14:14

>From there, click on Schedule, and you'll find Main Menu listed on
Wednesday. Note also, from the Mainstream homepage, you can Click on Replay,
Replay Wednesday, and you'll get the most recent program.

As well as this, there is an archives section, but this is seldome updated
these days, my gues is because of Podcasting. The URL for that anyway is:
http://www.acbradio.org/pweb/index.php?module=pagemaster&PAGE_user_op=view_p
age&PAGE_id=19&MMN_position=30:29

HTH.

Mark

I thought people were just talking about digital versions of hand-held
mini-cassette devices a lot of blind people use for recording notes and
phone numbers for themselves. Not entertainment players. But I remember
learning that some of the .mp3 players incorporate a recording function,
whether for just note taking or more serious use, I forget, one of which is
a model of Creative Labs called Nomad or something. A visit to their site
will reveal it. But I'm pretty sure that one has an LCD screen and isn't
too blind friendly.

well I have a Panasonic and I have had it for about two years so I am sure
there new ones out now. I like it because it beeps to indicate that you have
completed a function. This one has two folders. The Olympus one at Costco
had six folders and that is too many. A blind person would never know which
folder is which. But two is fine. You will have to get a sighted person to
go over it with you and make some notes as to what the functions are and you
will have to practice with it but you will find it neat to make little
notes. Much better than a cassette recorder. It has a clock and you can just
ignore that part. Good luck finding one.

Hi, it depends on which main menu you want to listen to, but if you're
referring to the one running for 24 hours, then you can go to
http://www.acbradio.org
and press enter on the link that says listen to acb radio main stream.

2005-03-23 Thread PETE gurney
hello steve and all,

thanks you had it exactly right.
this evening i called my isp, and the first thing i heard was a message
saying their dsl gateway problem has been solved and suggesting people turn
off their modems for a few minutes and then turn them back on again as the
work they did could have affected 4 of their customers.
i did this and now everything is working ok with the acbradio site.
it's rather odd as the acbradio site was the only problem it caused me, i
was listening to streaming audio on other sites and visted dozens of other
sites over the 2 days without any trouble.
but that's computers for you.

As far as anyone knows, there is nothing wrong with ACB Radio's
streamers or web server. I and other are able to connect, and none of
our broadcasters have reported problems. I suspect there may be some
networking issues in your li'l corner of the net. This is quite
possible. There was a period of time last year for about a month
where I could listen but not connect to broadcast. Thankfully the
problem went away, as I'm sure yours will, too.

G'day,

Not sure what problems you have been experiencing but I've just pointed a

problems. The site was slow in loading though... And I could only get the

Cheers.

Hi Carl. You can download this week's convention by going to the On Demand
