Thanks. I wasn't all that intrepid - we were being taught by a man with over
25 years experience as a mountain leader, so we were probably in less danger
than you and Karin...

I am not colorblind, but I have a problem of being under-sensitive to 
the subtle color gradations. So I may be wrong too here. The only 
defense that I have is that my monitor is profiled with Spyder.

Yes, I like the figures too. Next time I go there I might take a tripod and
a light meter. It's a fascinating church and reminds me of the one I used to
go to when I was at school, but on a smaller scale. This is a full view of

series could use a bit more yellow. Though may be it is just an 
aberration of my eyesight.


2. The wooden figurines are really fascinating.

3. But the final image of that bookshelf is a gem. Again, may be it is 
my warped mind talking here, but I really liked the light and the sense 
of shelves straining under the weight of the books and knowledge therein.

Definitely not a place to get lost. I was at school not so far from there
and we regularly heard reports of people being found dead on the top. Some
people go up there completely unprepared and get lost and caught in the
changeable weather and that's the end of them.

It's 700 hectares (whatever they are - I think that's about 1700 acres) of
blanket bog and upland heath rising to 636m, which is approximately where we
sat for our brew up. A very wild and interesting place to walk, but you have
to know what you're doing.

Thanks. In fact, they are the choir stalls rather than the pews. Not that it
makes much difference.

BBC's Village SOS programme - should be interesting.

How extensive is that flat landscape of Kinder Scout? - not sure I'd
want to get lost there.

I particularly enjoyed 4, 6, 9, 13 and 15 - and those wood carvings on
