I know a guy who mounted an old aerial photography lens (I've forgotten
the focal length, but it was HUGE) on the rollbar of his pickup truck,
with his 4x5 on a tripod in the bed. So I guess that's a drive around
rig, huh?

Steve,

I thought for sure you' have that 1000mm attached to your LX when out
walking around. It's a great lens for candids - especially when the
subject's in the next county

I prefer a Olympus SPn rangefinder, it has fixed 1.7/42mm very sharp
lens and 6-degree spotmeter (sic!) builtin. It's not the smalles one
on earth, no collapsible-elmar or MX with pancake, but it is small,
and fits easily into a small Tamrac padded lenscase on my belt, so I
can carry it ALL THE TIME. Really, loaded with 800 film (400+1), I
have it on my belt everywhere I go (except opera of course ). A
pentax with lens just wouldn't fit (at least the bodies and lenses I
have). Some of these fixed-lens rangefinders from the 70s are really
good carry-around cameras!

Good light,

Hi

I had the Z1P, K 28/3.5 and F 50/1.4 in my "walk around" trip in UK several
months ago (Scotland and England).

Okay, okay, I'm doing my best to gather together all the used notes and
stash them in an unobtrusive holdall to be left under the bench on platform
9 3/4 at Toronto Central station - but it takes time, you know!
I've had to send the kids down t' pit and pawn Paul's car, but I'll do it -
just don't hurt it!

I just knew it was bad news when I got that letter enclosing its little
front lens cap and those bone-chilling words
"If you ever want to see. "

MX and 40mm pancake, without a doubt.
It's been skiing and mountain biking with me, as well as just walking about.

$200+ for a pancake lens? Nah, I'd expect to get a camera body with it as
well, for that price. They can be had for a lot less. (maybe not on eBay
though!)
