Re: sigma 70-300mm 4-5.6 DL macro lens.
Hi! While thinking over M80-200 ore F70-210 Zoom I looked for an article from 'photomagazin' 04/99 in the library two days ago. The dates in that test may not show how it is in daily life but I decided that I wouldn't like it because it seems to have evident light-fall-off to the edges and will suffer with flare. Re: sigma 70-300mm 4-5.6 DL macro lens.
I have used one on my PZ-70 and PZ-20 bodies for several years with good results and with no compatibility problems. I like the 300mm macro function as I do alot of flowers and the long macro really helps control the background. A very useful lens for my purposes. The DL version is good, due to production variances some are even better than the APO version I have. I also love the 1:2 macro to since it keeps me far enough to use a flash but I can't find the 1:1 adaptor anywhere. --- Nitin Garg <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > hi, > > anyone has any experience with this lens ? > > thanks, > nitin > - > This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. > To unsubscribe, > go to http://www.pdml.net and follow the directions. > Don't forget to > visit the Pentax Users' Gallery at > http://pug.komkon.org . > __ Find, Connect, Date! http://personals.yahoo.ca - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. Well, I have the 70-300/4.0-5.6 APO Macro and it's probably my most used lens after the FA 28-105 Powerzoom. The attached lenshood is pretty deep and seems to work well - I can't ever recall seeing much flare when using this on bright sunny days. The attached lens hood also reverses to store on the camera, which is quite convenient. I think I used the macro mode once - I'm not much of a macro shooter. It's only macro at 300 which means you need quite a bit of room. I don't use it much anymore because my style of photography changed - I normally walk around with a 20-35, a 50 and a 135 now. It's an ok lens, though. As for the quality of the image - I can't comment on that as I haven't used it for a while. I can't remember ever looking at a pic and thinking "Man this lens, er, blows!" It works well with my Zs and my MZ-5 - no compatability problems. (It's the one attached to the camera (z5) in http://www.diaspoir.net/dave/davenstef.jpg, although that's an amazingly unhelpful picture for camera equipment. It also looks photoshopped, for some reason.) dave -- dave o'brien - http://www.diaspoir.net The only way to amuse some people is to slip and fall on an icy pavement. - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
