Re: Newsgroups

The nntp.perl.org NNTP server runs from the list archive.

Distributing to other nntp servers runs via a few feeds which may not work
anymore.

We can add other feeds if you are running a server, but it was always a bit
tenuous and posting back via other NNTP servers isn’t supported.

Woah, we are getting really far away from talking about perl6 here...

I wouldn't claim to entirely comprehend the rules, but I think
there's something in the 501c rules about not taking money for
specific purposes too.

Thanks, I've added it now.

Generally that sort of thing is much better told to webmaster@ --
otherwise it's only helpful if one of us happens to read your mail
(and with 100+ lists it's likely that we don't). :-)

Hi Conrad,

It's not a newsgroup. It's a mailing list available via NNTP.

Other than that, thanks for putting together a FAQ!

perl6-users mailing list

2006-05-16 Thread Ask Bjørn Hansen

Hi everyone,

We setup a perl6-users mailing list. It'll be our first list for
perl6 "users" (as opposed to implementors). Of course I hope the
implementors will join too and help the users. :-)

Email [EMAIL PROTECTED] to subscribe.

It will show up on the nntp server as perl.perl6.users within a few
hours and eventually on Google Groups too (if you run a popular-ish
NNTP server and want a read-only feed, send me a mail off-list).

I don't think your SPF implementation is doing the right thing. I'll

That depends if google properly supports "moderated" newsgroups.
Sounds like they don't ...

In any case we don't currently support posting via nntp through
anything but nntp.perl.org.

We'll keep the (abandoned) SVN repository around so you can try it
again every few months. Hopefully it'll get usable for you at some

use it for).
