Find out the ip address of the pi. i would go to the router ui to find
it. .normally this is at 192.168.1.1

then when you have the pi ip address type that in the browser and see if
it brings up the max2play ui.

Most people don't go via the tv ui so not sure if what you're seeing is
correct or not.

Edit..i can see your ip in the picture. .192.168.1.73 i think

LMS 7.9.0 on Synology DSM 5.2-5565 doesn't play 24/96 flac files on SB

No problem playing 24/96 flac files on SB Touch however.

But you are very right that with the non plugin, the exit was a full
graceful one, but it takes many seconds before it happens for (normally)
a limited benefit. I think adding a UPnP "stop" on that forced exit mode
will solve the problem

Well, first come inside off the naughty step, wipe your nose (not with

Suggest that first you reformat the card with this

But the plugin has stopped hasn't it? And restarted? And I thought it

[SlimDevices: Plugins] SB Player and DSD audio

2015-05-20 Thread wt0

The latest version of SB Player (1.2.6), which I just published,
supports LMS 7.9's ability to stream DSD audio. It can handle both DSF
and DFF formats. It plays DSD by converting to it PCM similar to how
Squeezelite does it.

However the conversion process and the resampling of the resulting 352.8
kHz floating point PCM to something playable in Android is very
processor intensive. On my two fastest test devices, a Nexus 7 (2013)
and a Nexus 5, only the Nexus 5 can keep up and only if I put an ice
pack on it to stop the CPU from throttling. The Nexus 7 seems to be
just under the threshold of being able to keep up.

If somebody has a current gen high end device, I would really like to
know if it can handle the playback without external cooling.

Yes and no.
No, nothing has changed yet.
But. You have also the issue of the high-res flac decompressing to pcm,
which you proberbly didn't notice ;-) So I think you just stream your
flac files like most of us, as flac files :-) (not decompressing them
first to pcm).
However this will be fixed in the next update for x86, Cedarview,
Bromolow and Avoton architecture.

Greetings,

Martin

Can you log things ? I'll have a look at what sq2u sees and reports. I
might very well be that your player claim to *not* support aif, so it
might require a change on my side. This aif thing is painful because
there is confusion between the file format and the audio sample format
:(

In other words, a player can claim to *not* support AIFF *file* format
and only support WAV *file* format, but when sq2u is in the middle, it
does not matter as long as the player support uncompressed audio, sq2u
does the necessary "transcription" between the raw uncompressed audio
that LMS sends and whatever the player accepts

The exact transcoding rules of LMS when flc *and* pcm/aif are involved
remains a bit a mistery for me, I have to admit. I do not want to start
a passionated audiophile debate (I really don't) but volpone, you should
hear no difference between flac and wave - this is bit exact matching
and asynchronous transmission (i.e. audio data are buffered before being
played with local clock, there is no clock transmitted)

Yes, this is correct, LMS does not "really" care about bit depth. I will
do a bit later a 24-to-16 bits conversion. For now, I'll stabilize
0.2.3.0

Does aif still get transcoded if you re-order the codes to be
aif,flc,pcm,mp3? My understanding is that sq2u picks the 1st one that
will work.

Hello, I'm able to read all files with your recommendations :
flc,pcm,aif,mp3
but AIf is still transcoded to flac (cf attached). If I only select AIF
native in "files type" I don't have any sound (the track is not played).
So it seems I still can not read AIFF native and it is silly to
transcode uncompressed AIF to compressed FLAC18069

Chuncked definitively does not work : only "no size (open range) and
fixed large size. "No size" is less stable.

Concerning transcode from flac to wav at the level of the server seems
to improve sound quality.

Thanks for your support.

The above stream works well for 1, 2 or 3 synced players. Also when
adding or removing synced players live. There is a short break when
additional players is syncing to stream but thats okay.
Tried turning on and off all but one synced players and no problems.

My original stream http://test.live.net.il/glgltz-a-zixief.m3u8 has
intermittent rebuffering problems. Less with one player, more with added
synced players. There is a short break when additional players is
syncing to stream but thats okay.
Tried turning on and off all but one synced players but after a few
times the one player (or multiple synced) halts in pause mode after a
while and shows the clock.

Radio Station Buffer Seconds is set to default 3.

FYI Version 0.2.3.0-a3 fixes the next track issue for the Roku.

Having one device which can act as a SB1 and a UPnP player gives me some
easy debugging capabilities. Even in SB1 mode 24bit files are only
converted to mp3 if the sample rate is greater than 48kHz, which is the
max sample rate supported by the Roku. 24bit/44.1kHz and 24bit/48kHz
produce silence. It seems LMS doesn't care about the bit depth.

Hi both work fine.

I think I arrived at the final URL a slightly different way, mentioned
in the original post.

Right click on the game of your choice on the game slider on the BBC
Player and choose "Save Link As". Saves a playlist called
audio_event_stream_065.m3u8 which has the same URL.

Thanks for the help. No doubt I'll have forgotten when the next round of

Thanks again.

If not using powered usb peripherals, I think it best to add the usb

I explained in this post
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?53229-Announce-BBCiPlayer-Plugin-(UK-only)&p=816493&viewfull=1#post816493
in the BBCiPlayer plugin thread (in response to the same question here
.

This is if you are using Triodes alpha plugin with HLS support -
recommended if you haven't changed over. Instructions here
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?103435-BBCiPlayer-Plugins-an-alternative-quick-fix-guide&highlight=bbciplayer).

But if you are sticking with PlayHLS, the redir url seems to work ok: >

Ah so you still have something that is putting a weight in the cpu of
the pi2? That's good to know. .so it seems even with a few peripherals
like a dac and/or an amp connected to the pi2 the little bruiser can
still cope with b being the lms server AND function as a squuezelite
client at the same time?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: PlayHLS Plugin - plugin to play Apple HLS m3u8 stream

2015-05-20 Thread ian_heys

Can anyone tell me how to recover the generic url of the commentary in
this player:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/cricket/32524234

So that I can play any of the url's that the BBC assign to the various
county games throughout the season.

The Player shows this stream information:

128kBpS|HDS (akamai-hds)|p02r9vg8|unknown dimension

Not sure if HDS will play on LMS though?

I have bpa's Play HLS plug-in installed.

Is there a good resource for settings anywhere? I know this thread is
but rather than going through the whole lot I was hoping for a single
settings advice type reference.

I guess I just assumed that if the device only reported 16 bit support
then it would be transcoded by one of the rules. I'm probably wrong.
