Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Custom Clock for Jivelite with 800x480 Screen
the only place I see my own custom screens are within the "custom clock helper" advanced settings on LMS Settings (via web) - I can't see these screens on the player at all. Now... the earlier versions of custom clock applet required license manager, which in turn required access to mysqueezebox... so I wasn't quite sure if I needed mysqueezebox to be available or not. Nevertheless, I've made the exercise of installing a second LMS server onto which I managed to correctly connect to mysqueezebox, and when I connect the player to the new one, the behaviour is exactly the same. The only difference I can see between last it worked and the new setup, is LMS 8.3 instead of LMS 7.9 I wonder what I am missing in the setup. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Squeezelite/piCorePlayer power to Tasmota/MQTT/HA
Home assistant has a squeezebox integration and already could display the status of the various players, or serve as a basic remote for them. It just couldn't trigger an action on state change (unless I missed how this can be achieved) So, node-red poll on the status as seen in home assistant and use that as a trigger for controlling the power state of the plug that's used for the amp. If you have multiple smart things, you may want to look into home assistant to control all of them under a common ecosystem that includes squeezebox. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Squeezelite/piCorePlayer power to Tasmota/MQTT/HA
I think I got something working. And it is not super difficult to achieve. caveat: I am using Home Assistant to manage my "things" How? Within Home Assistant I installed Node-Red. It is a flow programming tool that can be embedded within Home Assistant and pull information from it. >From there, I trigger an action (poll state) on a state change of the piCorePlayer - the resulting state is text-based and can be "off", "idle", etc. There doesn't seem to be power-on state... so I enabled the condition on whether or not the state is "off". the outgoing result (2 triggers) are sent to a "service call" that turns on or off the power socket. I have not debugged yet, but this seems to do the trick nicely. +---+ |Filename: switch.png | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=32581| +---+ Marsupial's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=59182 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113459 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Squeezelite/piCorePlayer power to Tasmota/MQTT/HA
I am trying to control a smart power outlet so that a squeezeplayer state controls it. The idea is to power the amp when the player is in use, but not otherwise. I thought it would be easy but can't seem to find how... I have Home Assistant and LMS integration. I can tell a player to turn on or off from HA. But what I need is for HA to do an action when the player goes on or off, and it doesn't seem to have this option. My power outlet runs Tasmota. Therefore, I can change its power state with MQTT or directly by http like so http://192.168.x.x/cm?cmnd=Power%20Off The plug is also using MQTT trough a browser, but I don't think the player will be MQTT compatible. I thought about just running a script from the player on state change, but what's available on piCorePlayer is a script execution trigerred by gpio... Which won't do the same. Anyone knows of a working path? Am I not seeing something that would make this work? Any ideas of what next to try? Thanks a lot. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] SuperDateTime Screensaver v5.11.0 - Date/Time/Weather/Sports/Stocks
I think the issue is with analyzers and vu-meter. They don't seem to work on jivelite. The weather works fine and I made it display my language for the dates. I which I could have an analyzer, I'd use it while playing. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] SuperDateTime Screensaver v5.11.0 - Date/Time/Weather/Sports/Stocks
Some of the screens get the date in English, and some in French. Not sure what's the discriminant... I use raspberry pi for the player, so I guess that's where the English comes from. It's not an issue for me, I'll focus on the ones that works for me. I do however have difficulty editing the pages with custom screen helper. Thanks! Yeah, they changed the way their website works and makes it hard to get the code. I've passed trough most of the thread, having it at top is great. I think I got it working but wondered if the code is wrong, and was about to ask how we can know, when you posted. [SlimDevices: Plugins] 2 instances of squeezelite on one machine?
Thinking of running an old windows PC as music supplier for 2 different rooms. Is there a way to run 2 instances of squeezelite on a single computer, trough either 2 sound cards, or different channels of a 5.1 sound card? The idea would be to have one machine to run, pull music from the LMS trough server, and push music to 2 different rooms... if at all possible. Any ideas welcomed. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Philips Hue bulbs - plugin to sync them to music via LMS?
The phillips bulbs might not be adequate, but there are certainly other alternatives. using microcontroller & computer software might do the trick to change RGB led string to follow beat, something in the lines of what they do with TV images http://learn.adafruit.com/adalight-diy-ambient-tv-lighting However, following beat might not be the target. The couple seconds delay might still be OK if all you want is the bulbs to change color every songs... Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Any keyboard-operable squeeze interface?
If anyone follows these changes, or someone ever come across this and finds it useful, here are other observations... I managed a fullscreen skin; but running squeezeplay "maximized" (in its launch settings in windows) doesn't work. I had to install a 3rd party software to auto-maximize it and keep it on top, plus make sure the skin auto-size at the correct size before being maximized. Also, I had to install autoHideMouseCursor so we don't see that ugly cursor in the way. Nevertheless, squeezeplay now is launched (fullscreen) at windows startup, so it makes a relatively good embeded solution for a dedicated computer. Thanks to all that helped out, it is really appreciated. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Any keyboard-operable squeeze interface?
well the remap is not going too bad, but I cannot find out how to map "cursor down" or "cursor up" Left & right are "back" and "go" so its easy, but up/down fails. Also, the + key seems to be hardcoded to altering the menu - I am offered to move up/down the current selection within the menu. Any way to disable that? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Any keyboard-operable squeeze interface?
Thanks Roland, I'll give a look at making the remap. Worst case, I will use SharpKeys registery alterations on that machine to remap permanently the numpad, but I would prefer a more natural solution within the software. As far as squeezeslave, I am on windows and couldn't manage to get it to not crash. Go figure. But SqueezePlay works like a champ, in fullscreen now, so I guess its ok. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Any keyboard-operable squeeze interface?
well, I think I managed to get something ressembling a fullscreen in squeezeplay... I found out in these threads that there used to be a fullscreen skin in squeezeplay: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?76548-Squeezeplay-full-screen http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?82748-better-windows-app-to-control-squeezebox/page3 but the thread wasn't working super nice. So I decided to alter it. Well, I literally took another skin and put it inplace of the fullscreen one, but replaced the skin at its intended size (of 800x600) I also tried at 1024*768 (only change the values in FullscreenSkinApplet) and it worked good, but my intention is to put it on a 800x600 screen. Anyway, here's the files I modified and how it works. Oddly ennough, its all-black-background. I figure some people might like it. The only problem I still have, is there I see no way of preventing accidental "force play" within the software. +---+ |Filename: FullscreenSkin.zip | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=14545| +---+ Marsupial's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=59182 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98213 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Any keyboard-operable squeeze interface?
I never managed to get squeezeslave to play. I am wondering if I am downloading it from the proper place. I like squeezePlay, its the interface as my android Squeeze remote, and the cursor controls are almost perfect. However, the numeric keypad doesn't seem to be recognized as a cursor, even with num lock off. Is there any way to remap the keys inside squeezeplay, or do I have to use an external remapping tool such as eventghost? Another concern... I can't manage to get Squeezeplay to display fullscreen. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Any keyboard-operable squeeze interface?
Thanks Michael, I'll seek and try squeezeplay. the keypad can be made to work with numlock off, as cursor/page up & down. I think its 16 keys would be suffisent for browsing playlist and controlling volume, but so far no software I tried give me this possibility: everyone uses mouse for everything. Worst case scenario I could remap keys or something, as long as I find a software that does the trick for me.
