BTW: Can your plugin display icons with more than 2 colors? If so, I
might be able to produce something somewhat more legible at 9x11...

Theoretically the SB2/3 have 4 shades of grey. But I'd like to keep the
plugin as compatible as possible with older players. I tried to simply
resample the images down to 9x11, but the result wasn't very convincing :-)

Doh! 9x11... that =is= tiny. You guessed correctly, I pulled the size
from the icons on your site. Oh well. Thanks for the feedback Micheal!

Thanks for the design! But there's one important point: the resolution of
these images (as of those on my web page where you might have taken the
measure) is double the one of the player. When scaled down to the real
size of 9x11 pixels they aren't recognizable any more. There's too much
detail to be represented with the given resolution.

BUT: I like them non the less. In fact I've recently been playing around
with the original icons as I wanted to use them for the SlimRemote - and
did not like them. I might have a try at using yours in that other app ;-)

I =totally= agree.. but thought there might be a technical reason why
some image had to be displayed. I suppose a blank image would work in
that case? Other than that, what do you think of the icons themselves?
Do they offer an improvement in terms of legibility or not? I think
they do, but I'd like your opinion(s).

Top Left: CURRTIME

30 seconds after play when the screensaver kicks in, the plugin crashes

It's in the player settings' plugins section. If you can't see it neither
there nor in the plugins list of the server settings, start slimserver
with the -d_plugins parameter. It should give you a reason for the failure
(though I can't imagine one).

MHCPAN -- I think it is only for Windows.

You're right, it's Windows only. And the plugin doesn't need any of these
modules.

Another strange thing is that of the two Squeezebox3, one of them shows
the MusicInfoSCR display, not the other. Both have firmware 28.
Slimserver version is 6.2.1-5719-Linux-EN.

1) with progressbar selected for top right, and icons set for top
right, show always, the bar and icons overlap

This was a caching issue. Once the button's state change and the bitmap is
re-calculated the display should be fine.

2) with a side vis, the progressbar ends the column before the icons.
It might be nice to have even one pixel separation if possible.

Done. I added even two pixels. It's looking better now.

actually, turning the icons off then back on seems to avoid problem 1,
but then for the wide case 2 still applies.

Hitting one of the shuffle/repeat buttons would also have done the trick.
It was a caching issue: I'm now checking the displayWidth as well.

For the icons selection pulldown, something like "no" or "do not show"
might be more clear than a blank

This was easy enough :-).
