1. it is in Spanish

Anyway, IE 11 is supported on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. I am

Yes, for example MS are currently recommending that to download their
own MSDN subscriber downloads using their own transfer manager plugin
using their own Internet Explorer 11, you have to make it pretend it's
IE 9.

Nice testing there, chaps.

Changing the User Agent for a browser is a great feature to work around
broken web sites, but using an outdated version of a browser can be a
security problem: older versions have known exploits. So, it's better to
use the most recent browser, and emulate older browsers if necessary for
poorly-designed websites, but no the other way around.

I am confused. Why is it important what version is on the server? Is he
sitting working at the server?

Anyway, IE 11 is supported on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. I am
not sure that Small Business Server 2008 is based on Server 2008 R2. I
think it's actually Small Business Server 2011 that is. Therefore I
would guess IE 10 is the most recent version.

I'm with you on that Steve, only the level of frustration trying to get
Internet Explorer and Office working for customers is incredible. A
great deal of my customers like Outlook and IE and I look like an
amateur to my customers because it is so difficult. Also, Remote Desktop
Connection and Windows 8. Speaking of which, SBS2008 comes with a
remote web application that is supposed to work like remote desktop.
Has anyone looked at that?

Today I feel like a putz.

Well, FireFox or Chrome, obviously :)

This sounds suspiciously like a Microsoft "we're protecting you for your
own good, because we're smarter than you" feature, doesn't it? I'll bet
there's some security lock you need to unlock. Have you searched the
internet, especially the Microsoft site?

They say "the customer is always right."

Hope he's paying you for the effort.

P.S. If Microsoft really, really doesn't think you should do this, isn't
there another way you can get done what the client needs? IOW, you
shouldn't be using an SBS as a workstation, so why not do it another way?
