I really thought about moving to Florida when I got sick but then my Mom said dont because you can't get any help here and man is she right. I was on the "waiting" list for two years, never did get on the damn waiver list. Finally, I gave up and here I sit. I don't wanna spend the rest of my life in a nursing home, despite the good care I receive here, but I'm scared to get back out there, ya know? Steph

Hey, Im a c7 going on 8 years post. As far as popping in the shoulders , this is normal to some extent. Ranging your shoulders out should help this. If your shoulders are hurting badly for a long period of time I would go easy on them for awhile and see if it gets any better. All the doc is going to do is ask if you want a cortisone shot, or he may insult you saying you have carpal tunnel syndrone. The key is dont get to excited over this, the pain may go away and time will tell you how to deal with it. Ive had minor shoulder injuries and got scared but I pulled through. Dr. Wice told me something a few years ago about quad living.ITS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE. This statement pissed me off but now I can see where hes coming from. Be strong and if it doesnt get better by all means consult the doc. Ron
[QUAD-L] Rotor cuff
I totally disagree, but not all injuries are the same. I just went through this problem, PLUS a shredded tendon in my right shoulder. The doctor recommended surgery, but I ask to try therapy at home with the strechy bands. Within six weeks of intensive therapy, NO PAIN! My right arm only has half the strength it had, but that is due to the tendon tear. If a tendon is not repaired within 72 hours it dies. Mine was already dead. Think before you go under the knife. GA
Re: [QUAD-L] Medicaid/Medicare state differences
It's ironic that in all these years, I've never met anyone associated with medicare/medicaid with a disability. Yet they never seems to hesitate offering what they think about the terms of the new policies regarding benefits. Usually, they are wrong. How ironic is that? Better see a doctor don't put it off. Hubby has trouble with his shoulders, he has been in the chair for 54 yrs. and he has a lot of shoulder pain. After all your shoulders were not meant to do the job they are doing. Putting off going to the doc. just makes matters worse. Good Luck
