Alright...

Here's mine, without much thought put into it:

Offense:
Shaun Alexander
Ken Stabler

Defense:
Derrick Thomas
Lee Roy Jordan

Special Teams:
Peter Kim

Favorite Asst Coach:
Dude Hennessy ('cause Coach Bryant liked him and his name was "Dude")
Bill Oliver - I hate this mother-fucker, but he's a hell of a defensive
coach.

Favorite Head Coach:
Coach Bryant

Can you name your top five favorite Bama football player? Try to name
two on offense, two on defense, and one on special teams. These are NOT
necessarily the ones you consider the greatest, just your favorites for
whatever reason. Also name your favorite Asst Coach and Head Coach.

Mine look like this...

Offense:
Shaun Alexander
Richard Todd

Defense:
Curt Jarvis
Marty Lyons

Special Teams:
Phillip Doyle

Favorite Asst Coach:
Homer Smith

Favorite Head Coach:
Coach Bryant

ROLL TIDE! 64 days till Bama kicks it off!!

Too bad I had cloud cover. I remember seeing something totally weird a few
years ago. It was about 9am and the wife and I were driving to a late
breakfast in town. I think it was a Saturday. There was a shadow / dark
line in the sky from horizon to horizon as if something was blocking the
sun's rays. I asked my wife and the kid if they saw it as well and they
did. I have no freaking idea what it could have been.

No, I'm not kidding. Couldn't believe it myslef. I think it was about 9:00
pm and I'd gone outside for some reason. Did my usual sky scan just to see
if there were any aliens out playing. When I looked toward the west I saw
what appeared to be HuGe fusckin star with a bright blue tail on it. So
the first thing I think is my eyes are out of focus, something. So I kept
looking and refocusing and the blue tail never faded. I went and got my
binoculars and the sumbitch was still there! I looked at it for a couple
minutes, then decided to set up my telescope and give it a gander. Sure
enough, it was a comet. Scouts honor.

That has to be the same comet. If anyone has a

[RollTideFan] New BAMA Fan

2005-06-30 Thread TIDE1
>
Family story

An Auburn family of football supporters head out one Saturday to do
their
Christmas shopping. While in the sports shop the son picks up an Alabama
jersey and says to his older sister, "I've decided to become an Alabama
fan
and I would like this for Christmas."
His big sister is outraged by this and promptly whacks him around the
head
and says, "Go talk to mother."
Off goes the little lad with the Alabama jersey in hand and finds his
mother. "Mom?"
"Yes son?"
"I've decided I'm going to be an Alabama fan and I would like this
jersey
for Christmas."
The mother is outraged at this, promptly whacks him around the head and
says, "Go talk to your father!"
Off he goes with the Alabama jersey in hand and finds his father. "Dad?"
"Yes son?"
"I've decided I'm going to be an Alabama fan and I would like this
jersey
for Christmas."
The father is outraged and promptly whacks his son around the head and
says, "No son of mine is ever going to be seen in THAT!"
About half an hour later they're all back in the car and heading towards
home. The father turns to his son and says, "Son, I hope you've learned
something today?"
The son says, "Yes, Dad, I have."
"Good son, what is it?"
The son replies, "I've only been an Alabama fan for an hour and I
already
hate you Auburn people"

Re: [RollTideFan] Comet

2005-06-30 Thread Jeff Todd
No, I'm not kidding. Couldn't believe it myslef. I think
it was about 9:00 pm and I'd gone outside for some
reason. Did my usual sky scan just to see if there were
any aliens out playing. When I looked toward the west I
saw what appeared to be HuGe fusckin star with a bright
blue tail on it. So the first thing I think is my eyes
are out of focus, something. So I kept looking and
refocusing and the blue tail never faded. I went and got
my binoculars and the sumbitch was still there! I looked
at it for a couple minutes, then decided to set up my
telescope and give it a gander. Sure enough, it was a
comet. Scouts honor.

played last season with Hamilton County. He is the No.
28 rated player in the state of Florida. Last season,
Doe had 121 tackles and made 32 catches for 460 yards.
Corey Hobbs (6-3, 310), a defensive tackle from Oviedo
(Fla.), has also committed to the Gators. He is the No.
20 rated prospect in the state of Florida. Gator verbal
commitment Jevan Snead (6-3, 205), a quarterback from
Stephenville, Texas, travels to Las Vegas for a final
tryout to fill six open spots to participate in the EA
SPORTS Elite 11 camp held in July. He has been rehabbing
a slight tear of the meniscus in his right knee. Ponte
Vedra (Fla.) Nease High quarterback Tim Tebow, who
Florida is recruiting, has already been invited. Florida
quarterback Chris Leak and receiver Chad Jackson are two
of 50 athletes on the watch list for the Maxwell Award.
Linebacker Earl Everett and safety Jarvis Herring are
two
candidates for the Chuck Bednarik Award for outstanding
defensive player. Safety signee Reggie Nelson (6-0,
189), who played at Coffeyville Community College, has
passed his required math class and is now qualified. He
will move to Gainesville soon to prepare for the season.
ESPN has used one of its priority picks on the
Florida-USC game on Nov. 12. (The State, Gainesville Sun
and Gatorbait.net)

GEORGIA: Bulldog defensive back Albert Hollis III will
forgo a sixth year of eligibility to concentrate on his
track career. Hollis had a severe knee injury in the
spring of 2001 before ever playing in a game. He tore
three ligaments in his knee, ripped the hamstring away
from the bone and had severe nerve damage. Senior
defensive lineman Darrius Swain is out of jail after
serving time for a suspended license. He is preparing
for the season. Expectations are high for Swain after
his tackle numbers have dwindled from 37, 33 to 15.

to pass through the NCAA Clearinghouse. Quarterback

possible slight tear in his rotator cuff. Johns hurt his
shoulder during the week of the Alabama-Mississippi

Daniel Brooks (driving on a suspended license and
failure to satisfy a previous citation) and defensive
back Corey Campbell (driving on a suspended license,
failure to satisfy a previous citation and an
outstanding warrant for failure to comply with the
courts following a theft charge) have been suspended for
one game and removed from scholarship for the second
semester of summer school. Brooks was already suspended
for two games with the latest problem increasing it to
three. Since February of 2004, there have been 13
incidents involving players who have either been
arrested or issued citations. (Volquest.com)

OLE MISS: Shay Hodge (6-2, 180), an athlete from Morton

SOUTH CAROLINA: Tailback Cory Boyd is no longer on the
football team after he has been suspended for a
"non-academic" violation. He is still enrolled in
school. Boyd was the No. 2 tailback behind Daccus
Turman. The Gamecocks have already lost running backs
Demetris Summers and Antonio Lamar earlier in the year.
(The State)

ARKANSAS: Freddie Barnett (6-1, 300), a defensive tackle

Joel, I knew you meant it as a joke, I wanted you to know I didn't think
it was funny.

Way to serious? Yeah maybe, but you guys will just have to deal with it.
If something rubs me the wrong way, I'll not hesitate to share my
feelings. I would expect everyone else to do the same.
