You gotta love how Pat adds some past SBo packages into Slackware. SBo users
get some -current packages before they are even in -current. :)

Cool :)

To complete this thread, two changes were needed to the script to make it
work with 1.3.3.12. Building with cmake rather than configure fixed the
missing menu item.

  My thanks to Heinz.

Well, there is a cmake build script in the 11.0 section on SBo.

Heinz,

Well, now I have a reason to upgrade my server/workstation to 12.0 and
12.1 from 11.0: no cmake in 11.0.

Normally it's no big deal to upgrade from one version to another. But, the
changes in Xfce from 4.2.3.2 to 4.4.2 are major, and took me a few hours to
get my notebook back in my prefered format. Sigh.

Later,

Rich

Heinz,

Sure. Apparently the Scribus developers feel that the ./configure process
is too much work for them and they will be using cmake from now on. Oh,
well.

I will happily run your script on 1.3.3.12 and provide feedback.

I have updated the script for 1.3.4, which uses cmake too. It shouldn't be
that much of a problem changing the script to work with 1.3.3.12 too.

Phil,

  I didn't, either.

I have not upraded to 1.3.3.12, but as you can see newer is not always
better.

True. With office automation tools I try to use the latest release.

cmake is a slackware package, so it should be no problem to install it if
you need it. I think the documentation included in the source gives you
directions on cmake usage.

I assumed it was, but hadn't looked.

Rather than futzing to get .12 working, I'll back up to .11.

Thanks,

I can at least say that I don't see the bug in 1.3.3.11. I have not upraded to
1.3.3.12, but as you can see newer is not always better. cmake is a slackware
package, so it should be no problem to install it if you need it. I think the
documentation included in the source gives you directions on cmake usage.
