[RCSE] Graupner Spoilers

1999-08-06 Thread Mark Miller

I have a Graupner LS-4 kit I am going to start soon and it
requires Graupner Nr. 1000/25 spoilers. Are they still available.
The Graupner site and Hobby Lobby didn't have any specific info
on them. Will Multiplex spoilers fit? Any other options? The
wings are pre sheeted foam that are routed for the spoilers
already.

Cheers,

Mark

RE: [RCSE] Berg Recievers ( the other side of the story )

Why would anyone who owns a Hitec or Futaba use a Berg
receiver when they could use a Hitec receiver? No the Berg
is not lighter, and it does not cost less.

RE: [RCSE] Robbe does!

1999-08-06 Thread Jerry Craft

These types of chargers have been made for years. Check
out the RC Car section at your hobby store or online catalog.

Tekin BC112 with the Tekin DIS350 is my favorite:

There are more expensive ones by Competition Electronics:

and others.

What we really need, not currently made, as far as I know, is a high
current charger that uses this technology for fast charging flight
batteries, at 10 amps, with a discharge pulse of 40 amps! Thermocouples (or
something!!) would be needed to cool things and it would be expensive.
Hope this helps!

Robbe (and thus Aveox, I guess?) have decided to change to this charging technology,
and will thus have chargers for any need using reflex charging.

The only grumble I have with the Sirius is that it emits a lot of electric noise -
the Robbe Infinity is so much better in that respect! Don't place TV antennas,
shortwave
radios or other sensitive equipment nearby!

I know this topic was posted several days ago, but hey, I've been working
and flying.

My Hades was bought to fly on the slope, but since the slope has been crap
for the last several weeks, I've had to fly it off the winch at the power
field instead. Guess what, it kicks butt here too! My flights yesterday
were:

#1 20 minutes. Landed to check battery since I knew it wasn't fully charged
#2 4 minutes Crap, no lift.
#3 30 minutes. Landed because I wanted to check the battery again.
#4 14 minutes just because I wanted to have over an hour combined flight
time and my flying partner was leaving.

All of the flights except #2 consisted of several dives with a high speed
pass down the field with a pull up at the end. After the pull up I always
caught a thermal and specked it out again. The high speed passes had the
power guys saying "man, I never heard a plane scream like that before!"
 :-) )

"Experienced" Sprite owners, eat your heart out.

I like this too- it bends in mid-airs an rough landings
instead of breaking like CF will do, so it is field-repair
and save-the-flight friendly. I also think it's cool to solder
the reciever antenna to one as an antenna, neat and saves
weight.

I have one that has never been tainted by TD, and has actually been
FLOWN IN F3B SPEED BY JOE WURTS!
Yes it's true- this plane already has been taught how to go fast!

It comes with the identical servos, ballast system and stress-cracks
used by 2 out of three of our national team members, and sat in the
grass in New York! (I didn't fly it because it seemed unfair)

There never has been or ever will be another plane like this one!
I'm only selling it because I have inside knowledge of upcoming
planes that will not be available to you anyway.

Asking only $2499.99* that's less than you would pay for a plane
from some guy named "Gliderscum"! Unbelievable!

*Shipping not included, plus a "small" fee for handling.

Hi Greg, we use the yellow casing from the Sullivan #507 set, it fits the
.040 rod. Do a spectra joint/control horn a-la the Logic. We have also
bought and used with some success, the teflon tubing from MSC company, it
comes in any size you want. Most industrial supply houses have all sorts of
small tubing. I went back to .020" wire and teflon tubing for HLG.Bill
