I NEED to see these scores, 'cause I fly against these Bacus, Meyers and Miller guys every weekend and I'm scared. :) (I mean I fly WITH these guys.) Re: [RCSE] Strange behavior
Actually, it's not the light which is making the servo twitch. It's the arc from the switch. When you switch off the light, the switch is interrupting the electrical current. When it does this there is a minimal arc. An electric arc is quite electro/magnetically noisy. The first intentionally sent and received radio waves were generated by an arc. [RCSE] Fly off rounds 1 & 2
* Report from Team Norway. * * 7. July 17:40 First fly off: Joe Wurts had two line breaks, and blew it! Larry Jolly landed early FAR out (Ben CLerx had a LONG run to retrieve the model), Stefan Eder landed early... Christer Lennartson flew a full round! Jan Kohout landed early. Second round: Joe Wurts made a "hero or zero" flight, far away alone, landed early... Larry Jolly had a second landing, not coming back to the field! Jan Kohout got applaus, maybe a 1000. Juniors starting now for two rounds, we'll be back with more news! PS! The starting line with 15 models are LONG, so it's very hard to give more details. Re: [RCSE] Finding dead cell in a 7 cell pack
Hi Al, The dead cell will be easy to find with the use of pins as suggested, but how do you change the cell without taking the pack apart? Take the heat shrink off, change the cell and replace the heat shrink tubing. It shrinks real easy with a hot air gun. Don't use too much heat or you will have to do it again. Re: [RCSE] Building Surface Question
Hi Matt, I lived in Stillwater OK so I know what can happen. You might try a door, perhaps a composite door for the base then add a pinning surface to it. I have a door in my shop in NV and while we do not have th humidity, we have dry air which takes away the water and warps the wood. Good Luck. Re: [RCSE] Building Surface Question
I'll agree with Dick-- a hollow-core (interior) door is a great building surface. Support it in a frame, check for flatness and shim, and it'll last a long time. Get 36" wide. Cost can be $25-35, less if you can get a "second". --Bill 3/8" or 1/2" plate glass is the ultimate building board, though. [RCSE] Need airfoil design for a Pat Teakle / West Mendip Sailplanes ASW 20
I am building a Pat Teakle / West Mendip Sailplanes ASW 20, 1:3.5 Scale kit. I purchased the kit 2nd/3rd hand and have only one page/sheet of drawings. There is no information included in the kit as to what airfoil the wings (obechi over foam) have been cut to. Prior to glassing, I want to detail the hardwood leading edge. Respond to RCSE or via direct e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] I would appreciate anyone's help. Thanks! Joe Hitzel Jokake Construction Co. 2845 E. Camelback Rd.
